It’s been another exciting week of baseball with many excellent pitches from around the league. You’ve been voting all week, now the top pitches battle for the crown of “Pitching GIF of the Week”. Who will win? Did we miss your favorite pitch? Send us a tweet next time @ThePitcherList and we’ll GIF it up + give you a shoutout here in the article.

Masahiro Tanaka’s Fastball – Tanaka coasted to an easy victory against the Sox after the Yankee bats came alive for 13 runs. That didn’t prevent the Japanese import from displaying his best stuff including this front-door Fastball that featured a big banana curve to the plate.

Jake Arrieta’s Slider – It was a fantastic no-hitter from the true Cubs ace, and while some may look to his later pitches, this Slider to Andre Either stood out. Why? This pitch came in at 92.81 MPH. Sinkerballers get less bite than Arrieta gets on this pitch at the same speed. Crazy.

Bartolo Colon’s Fastball – The Big Apple had himself a day in Citi Field as he shutout the visiting Phillies through eight innings of work. He started off strong by getting Odubel Herrera with this Fastball that never stops riding off the plate.

Sergio Romo’s Slider – It can be tough to fully appreciate how difficult it is for batters to hit major league pitchers. While the first shot displays what seems to be a good – not elite – Slider from Romo, the second angle from behind the catcher gives us a chance to see the wicked movement Romo has had all of these years. (Thanks to @bovine1der for the tip!)

Danny Salazar’s Changeup – Salazar went into Toronto having just allowed a trio of Home Runs in his previous start and struck out 10 batters across seven innings for the Win. This Changeup he threw to Josh Donaldson to end the third inning was as pretty as they come. (Thanks to Reddit user bengalmike17 for the tip!)

Chris Sale’s Slider – Sale has double digit Ks last night once again, and his Slider led the charge as it darted all across the plate. He stunned Byron Buxton with this beautiful backdoor pitch for the strikeout. (Thanks to @Pburg34 for the tip!)

Chris Rusin’s Slider – The Giants haven’t seen a bullpen in three games after Rusin followed up Kershaw’s masterpiece with a complete game of his own. He collected 5 Ks along the way including this sweet back-foot Slider to Angel Pagan.
