SP Streamers for today's, tomorrow's and the day after tomorrow's games for fantasy baseball.
Every day of the 2025 baseball season, I'll be looking at today's and tomorrow's slate of scheduled starting pitchers and ranking their matchups for your fantasy baseball streams.
There's a lot that goes into this and you can hang out with me on Playback.tv/pitcherlist to talk about the specific ranks as I make them every weekday morning from 10am - 12pm ET. If you have questions about these ranks, please ask during the morning Playback AMA. Those are my office hours as I generally don't answer comments on the site.
There are four tiers to these rankings with 12-teamers in mind:
Auto-Start - Just do it. Don't overthink this, start the man. This includes "if I have them rostered, I'm starting them" pitchers.
Probably Start - I'm likely starting these arms, though I recognize there is more risk than we'd like there to be. Either it's a tough matchup for a good-not-elite pitcher or a weak lineup for a volatile arm. These pitchers have a 50% or greater chance of performing well in my view and I'm starting them in the majority of situations.
Questionable Start - Think of this tier as "I don't want to start these pitchers in a vacuum, but you could do worse." Streamers found in this tier are not pitchers I'm targeting and are only if you are in dire need of one. To play it safe with streaming, just start the Probably Start streamers.
Do Not Start - The reward is not worth the risk. Don't do it. Seriously, these pitchers have a very slim chance of success or sometimes none at all.
Obviously, there will be circumstances where pitchers should move between teams for your situation specifically and these new tiers should act as a little more help than the straight table from last year.
Please keep in mind that streaming is far from a perfect play. In fact, if they work out over half the time, I'd consider it a success. These matchup rankings & streamer picks are going to be wildly different than the actual results throughout the year, so please, have sympathy before the scathing comments and tweets. I'm only trying to help!
Make sure to read the notes if you're wondering why I'm favoring certain pitchers over others - I won't get to everyone and hopefully I answer what questions you will have.
There is a second table for tomorrow's starting pitcher matchups as well, helping everyone get a jump on their nightly pickups. Please note that these matchups are subject to change, though, and there will be times when I have the incorrect pitcher going. I thank you for your future understanding.
Finally, there are my streaming picks of the day, and please keep in mind that I am forced to pick a streamer every day. Those highlighted in Green are that day's streaming pick in the second tier and I'd roll with them everywhere. Those in Yellow are in the third tier and should be okay if you're searching for something on a given day, but I don't recommend streaming unless you're in need. Finally, those are Red are those I really don't want to start (they are labeled as "Do Not Start", after all) but have no other choice. Don't stream these guys until you are truly desperate. A streaming pick is defined as "rostered in 20% or fewer leagues according to Fantasy Pros. This really emphasizes the point that I'd be happy if over 50% of these worked. I could do the whole sub 30/40% rostered, but there's no fun in that. You can use the rankings to realize who those picks would be instead.
(Opener) - Outlines that a pitcher is being opened for that day & the pitcher listed will follow the opener.
As I do my rankings, I thought it would be helpful to showcase a table of how we're ranking offenses, granted by our PLV powered Projections (in alphabetical order by tier):
I'm sure it'll change through the year + there are differences to be made about teams vs. LHP or RHP, but it works as a general table that y'all should keep in mind.
To spice up these streaming recommendations, I've included our new daily fantasy baseball projections powered by PLV, and I'll be competing against PL Bot to pick the best streaming option each day.
These projections are different from your typical projections as they incorporate our pitch quantifier, assessing pitcher and hitter skills at a much more granular level than your standard box score.
To get access to PL Bot's picks each day, sign up for PL Pro here.
The streaming record is determined by "Was this a productive game for 12-teamers if I started them?" Roughly a "PQS" with a Win and a strikeout per inning with a sub 1.20 WHIP, with a minimum of 5 IP. Close calls are decided by Playback chat.

Monday 3/31 Starting Pitcher Streamer Rankings
Auto-Starts
Tyler Glasnow vs. ATL - Aces gonna ace.
Cristopher Sánchez vs. COL - That's such a good introduction to the season.
Drew Rasmussen vs. PIT - The only concern is how long he'll be allowed to go. All the reports have been that he's stupid filthy. I can't wait.
Probably Starts
David Peterson @ MIA - This is a fantastic matchup and Peterson can go six strong.
Jackson Jobe @ SEA - HE'S STARTING. And it's in Seattle! There's a little extra risk given the monumental moment for Jobe, but we're doing this and having a ball.
Chris Paddack @ CHW - It's a great matchup and Paddack's four-seamer + split-change are good enough.
Kris Bubic @ MIL - I don't love the matchup nor Bubic's lack of consistent groove in the spring, but I'm going for it, with an added element of "Hey, Bubic is a guy to add if you're in a spot to chase an upside arm." He'll be really hard to pick up if this one goes well.
Questionable Starts
Ronel Blanco vs. SFG - Blanco destroyed the minor league team he faced in spring, but I question if the changeup and heater are good enough to support the slider. I hope he makes us all super confident after this.
Bowden Francis vs. WSN - I just don't buy what he does. I sincerely hope he forces me to raise him in the future.
Brady Singer vs. TEX - I think Singer with a four-seamer in the mix will help plenty, but this may just be the old Singer, too.
Jordan Hicks @ HOU - If the sinker is at 97 mph, he'll have a chance for 5+ productive frames. A full six if his sweeper or splitter cooks.
Grant Holmes @ LAD - I adore The Real Estate Broker for the season, but it's the Dodgers.
Tyler Anderson @ STL - Anderson's changeup is still good and the Cardinals offense is not. "Toby" alert.
Cade Povich vs. BOS - Does Povich have enough in the arsenal to be a decent 12-teamer "Toby"?
Kumar Rocker @ CIN - Rocker's approach to LHB is questionable, and he's favored curves over sliders to RHB lately. Weird, I know. He still throws ched and could explode for a ton of strikeouts. I'm mostly avoiding, but I recognize the upside.
Martín Pérez vs. MIN - Pérez has his command but not his velocity. The Twins are not too threatening at the moment, though.
Michael Soroka @ TOR - Soroka isn't destined to be productive in 12-teamers and had a rough final spring tune up. Not a lock for success here.
Do Not Starts
Germán Márquez @ PHI - It's outside of Coors, but it's the Phils. And, you know, Márquez ain't great.
Ben Brown @ ATH - He doesn't have a third pitch but we've seen him go five with strikeouts off the curve before.
Sean Newcomb @ BAL - I'm just happy for the southpaw to get a shot at redemption, even if I don't believe it'll work out.
Cal Quantrill vs. NYM - Maybe Quantrill has his splitter for a few weeks like he did last year?
Joey Estes vs. CHC - He'll throw strikes in decent locations, but they are very hittable.
Miles Mikolas vs. LAA - Mikolas should just throw 60% sliders and it could work.
Luis L. Ortiz @ SDP - Ortiz isn't getting a ton of whiffs and it's a little too chaotic against a good squad.
Emerson Hancock vs. DET - Hancock can make this work if he can spot his arsenal. We've barely seen him click, sadly.
Carmen Mlodzinski @ TBR - Uhhhh aren't you a reliever? Maybe he shocks us for five frames against a poor offense?
Kyle Hart vs. CLE - Hart isn't fully stretched out and his ceiling is a "Toby". Not the wager to make.
Elvin Rodríguez vs. KCR - He's not a pitcher you want on your teams.
Tuesday 4/1 Starting Pitcher Streamer Rankings
Auto-Starts
Logan Gilbert vs. DET - Aces gonna ace.
Chris Sale @ LAD - Aces gonna ace. Don't care if it's the Dodgers.
Sandy Alcantara vs. NYM - He looks like the ace of old. Still working a little on the stamina, though.
Logan Webb @ HOU - Hey, can you throw changeups again like you used to? Just a little more?
Justin Steele @ ATH - The first start came with poor command. I don't expect that to stick.
Michael King vs. CLE - King was waaaay off last time out. It's not typical.
Corbin Burnes @ NYY - I'm terrified of this start. Seriously. I know I'm supposed to n all, so I have him here, but hot dang. It's scary.
Kodai Senga @ MIA - It's the Marlins and I hope everything looks good to go for Senga like it's second half 2023.
Nathan Eovaldi @ CIN - Eovaldi's curve was legit against the Red Sox and I hope that's a staple of his 2025 season.
Probably Starts
Shane Baz vs. PIT - It's the Pirates, even if Baz has been wonky in the spring.
Casey Mize @ SEA - Mize is the clear streamer pick with a date in Seattle. Here's to the slider being an effective bridge pitch.
Questionable Starts
Dustin May vs. ATL - I'm excited to see him begin his journey of a six-inning beast, but this may be an early stumble with a lower pitch count than what we expect in a month. You wanted to type May. I didn't want to confuse y'all!
Luis Severino vs. CHC - Severino did his job against the Mariners, but the Cubs without the gift of T-Mobile Park is far different.
José Berríos vs. WSN - We saw the undulation of Berríos against the Orioles and the Nationals aren't the weakest out there.
Hayden Wesneski vs. SFG - I'm worried Wesneski doesn't have much outside of his sweeper, but the Giants lack a thump.
Simeon Woods Richardson @ CHW - SWR is not a pitcher I plan on leaning on often this season, though the White Sox offense is very stremable.
Shane Smith vs. MIN - I dig the velocity from Smith, but there may be a bit of emotion attached in his first MLB start, while the velocity he displayed during the spring may fluctuate across the start.
Matthew Liberatore vs. LAA - Liberatore has a starting gig and the Angels could roll over for five frames.
Kyle Hendricks @ STL - The Cardinals are a solid matchup and Hendricks will throw strikes.
Will Warren vs. ARI - Warren has had bouts of wonky command and the Sneks are a strong club. The Yankees will let him go over 80 pitches, though, opening the door for a Win.
Trevor Williams @ TOR - #NeverTrevor.
Do Not Starts
Michael Lorenzen @ MIL - He's so dang boring, but at least he has a longer leash than those below.
Carson Spiers vs. TEX - Spiers showcases great command often, sadly without the stuff to back it up.
Logan Allen @ SDP - I'm still shocked the Guardians went with Mr. Two First Names over here and the Friars can make this ugly in a hurry.
Chad Patrick vs. KCR - WHO?!.GIF. He made starts for the Brewers in the minors last year and showed us one inning against the Yankees in relief. This is so dang risky.
TBD Pirates @ TBR - Who knows what the Pirates are doing with that fifth rotation spot. It's not Bubba Chandler and if it happens to be Thomas Harrington, I'm not spec adding him in a 12-teamer, but there could be 15-teamer value. From what I've seen, he doesn't have an overpowering arsenal.
Wednesday 4/2 Starting Pitcher Streamer Rankings
New for PL Pro members - I am making the streaming table for an extra day out. I wanted to add a bonus for those who support us without taking anything away to everyone else and I thought this was a good compromise.
