41 pitchers had a save or hold over the past week (last weekend since there were no games this current week), and there’s no need to mention every one of them here. With the short week and lack of games, there’s not too much to talk about as we get ready to resume games today. Now with the All-Star break in the rearview, we can put our attention on the upcoming trade deadline as there should be a dozen or more names on this list moved by August 1st this year.
Notes
- Teams have played just 2-3 games since last week’s rankings so there’s not much to go off of here. Next week will be business as usual as we see how teams’ bullpens are shaking out after the All-Star break.

This list feels like it’s maybe made in error? The single line of note says there’s not much to go by because of the lack of games, which I’d expect to mean the rankings wouldn’t change much either. It looks almost as if numbers 2-8 are swapped with 11-16 or something?
It’s a result of his big closer rankings shakeup on Tuesday, which he said was based on an analysis of expected stats: https://pitcherlist.com/closing-time-7-11-ranking-the-top-30-closers-every-tuesday/
That makes sense. That’s some pretty important contextual info that wasn’t included here! Thanks for clarifying
