Weekend Streaming: Week 4

Taking a look at five players to help you win your Week 4 matchup.

Week 4 of the fantasy baseball season is flying by! At this point (around a month in), we’re starting to see adjustments being made and players looking far more comfortable, even after a slow start. This is a crucial point in the season to nail your adds/drops! With that being said, let’s take a look at the week 3 results:

  • Jonathan Aranda: 1-7, HR, 2 RBI, 2 BB
  • J.P. Crawford: 5-12 (.417), HR, 6 RBI, 3 BB
  • Jake Irvin: 6.1 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 0 BB, 9 K
  • Shane Smith: 4.2 IP, 4 H, 3 ER, 1 BB, 3 K
  • Logan Allen: 5.2 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 5 K

Overall, a pretty solid week! Shane Smith’s line looks subpar but all of those runs came on a monster 3-run Rafael Devers homer. Outside of that, he was cooking. Jake Irvin’s two runs both came off of solo shots at Coors Field, but that strikeout stuff is really impressive. And of course, my boy J.P. Crawford continues to stay smoking hot at the dish.

Now let’s see who’s on our slate for week 4…

Luke Keaschall, 1B/2B/OF, Minnesota Twins

The kid! Keaschall, 22, has been an electric addition to this Minnesota offense, going 6-17 (.353) with three doubles, four walks, and five stolen bases. He’s also limited strikeouts (just two, both in the same game), limits whiff (18.9%), and has posted a .387 xwOBA since debuting.

He faces a poor-pitching Angels team who has two TBD starters slated for this weekend. Keaschall himself isn’t just a streamer pickup, but a long-term option for your fantasy team. You’ll see his name quite a bit over the next few weeks.

Tylor Megill, RHP, New York Mets

Ty(Cy)-lor Megill is doing what he usually does, which is dominate at the start of the year. He’s posted a 1.09 ERA/2.18 FIP, 1.26 WHIP, .211 BAA, and 27.8% K rate 24.2 innings thus far. He’s sliced his barrel% by over half, the LA sweet spot rate has dropped by over 10%, and he continues to boast an elite extension of 7.2 feet. There’s a lot to like with Megill, especially with the Mets’ pitching development staff.

He faces off against a Nationals offense that has struggled over the past week or so, slashing just .239/.287/.394/.681 with an 88 wRC+. I like this matchup a lot.

Zach McKinstry, INF/OF, Detroit Tigers

McKinstry has been a surprise breakout bat to start the year with Detroit, slashing .311/.416/.459/.875 with a 157 wRC+ and a whopping 15.7% BB rate in 23 games. He enters play today with a 5-game hit streak, where he’s gone 9-19 with three XBH over that span.

He faces a struggling Orioles staff, including Charlie Morton (10.89 ERA) this weekend. It’s a good bet he will be able to continue his dominant run in 2025.

Noelvi Marte, INF, Cincinatti Reds

Marte was one of my favorite prospects to watch prior to him being dealt from Seattle for Luis Castillo. Since then, he’s been up and down, dealing with a multitude of issues including a big suspension last season. He looks to right his wrongs in 2025, and so far has been successful, slashing .310/.375/.621/.996 with a 166 wRC+ in nine games since getting the call.

Marte got a lot of attention on Tuesday after he posted a 117 mph exit velocity on his second home run of the season.

You know the drill. Marte has been scorching hot and he faces one of the worst pitching staffs, the Rockies, away at hitter-friendly Coors Field. Really easy streaming matchup, in my opinion.

Agustín Ramírez, C/1B, Miami Marlins

Another rookie who’s debuted and tore up major league pitching. He’s gone 5-6 with three doubles and two walks to start his young career. He’s also posted a 92 mph Avg EV, 16.7% barrel rate, 50% HH rate, and 7.1% whiff rate over that span. Obviously this is a very small sample size, but Ramirez is a bat-first type of player. This is exactly what he was acquired to do when the Marlins got him for Jazz Chisholm Jr. at the deadline.

Quality catcher production is always hard to come by, especially in deep leagues, so if Ramirez is available, I highly advise you try to snag him.

Even in AAA last year, when he was getting called up, he was rolling at 4BB/9. He’s never had sustained success above AA. I haven’t been keyed in on him enough to pay attention to his monthly splits in the minors, as he only hit the majors last season, (and didn’t have sustained success above AA), but I’ll take your word for it. He’s still walking someone nearly every other inning. Seems like a good weekend stream, and maybe I’d miss the boat, but I probably wouldn’t hold long, unless I was set in ratios and needed K’s. “Cylor” is a bit of a stretch, even if it’s an easy reach, is all.
