Welcome to Waiver Wire Picks, our daily fantasy baseball article that highlights the best players in baseball that you should be adding to your rosters. We’ll look at those who are likely to be available in most leagues, as well as some deep league waiver wire options, and we’ll also look at the most added players in fantasy baseball across the major sites, and let you know who to add and which players you can leave on the wire.
Top Priority Players to Add
Noah Schultz (CHW), SP (40% Rostered on Yahoo)
Noah Schultz is set to make his debut today and is a must-add in all leagues. The 6’10 lefty has dominated in Triple-A this season, posting a 1.29 ERA, 0.43 WHIP, and 40.4% strikeout rate through three starts. He lost a bit of his prospect hype after a down 2025 season where he posted a 4.68 ERA and 1.67 WHIP, but he was dealing with a knee injury that affected him throughout the year. After 2024, he was considered a top-10 overall prospect in all of baseball after putting up a 2.24 ERA, 0.98 WHIP, and 32.1% strikeout rate in the minors in 2024.
His extreme height and lower arm angle make him an extremely unique and uncomfortable opponent for hitters to face, which could allow him to translate his success to the majors very quickly. Chicago has a successful history with these types, such as Chris Sale and Garrett Crochet, and Schultz has that same ace upside. With a 60-grade fastball and 70-grade slider, he could become an extremely good strikeout contributor for fantasy purposes. It was a surprise that the White Sox were willing to call him up so soon, and there’s nothing stopping him from sticking in the rotation for the remainder of the year.
Jeffrey Springs (ATH), SP (50% Rostered on Yahoo)
Jeffrey Springs has had many ups and downs over his career, but he is just performing too well in 2026 to only be 50% rostered. He tossed seven shutout innings against the Yankees in his last start and is currently holding a 1.47 ERA and 0.76 WHIP with 15 strikeouts in 18 1/3 innings. I’m not suggesting he is turning into an ace, but with his next starts lined up to be against the White Sox and on the road against the Rangers, it’s worth riding out this hot streak.
Andrew Painter (PHI), SP (48% Rostered on Yahoo)
Andrew Painter was scratched from his Sunday start due to a migraine, but he began to feel better and was able to enter the game in the third inning. From there, he allowed one run in five innings while striking out seven. It was a great bounce-back after his rough outing against the Giants, making it two out of three very good performances to start his career. His effectiveness is heavily dependent on how much of a feel he has for his breaking pitches on any given day, which could lead to inconsistency, but his performance at his peak still makes him worth owning in most leagues.
Daulton Varsho (TOR), OF (39% Rostered on Yahoo)
Daulton Varsho got out to a slow start initially, which led to this suppressed roster rate, but he is starting to heat up as of late. In the past seven days, he has batted .348 with two home runs, which is a good sign to those who drafted him as a potential breakout candidate. After making adjustments at the plate to get more power last season, he ended up hitting 20 home runs in only 71 games, which would work out to 40-homer power over a full season. That may still be a big ask for 2026, but 30 home runs seems very attainable, making him a great add if someone in your league has already given up on the slugger.
Jorge Soler (LAA), OF (38% Rostered on Yahoo)
Jorge Soler is also starting to heat up at the dish, homering in three straight games from April 7th to April 10th. He’s one of the best widely available bets for power and should probably be rostered in more than 38% of leagues. He can be a streaky hitter, but this recent power surge may be a sign of good things to come in the near future. In a shallow, three-outfielder league, it may be tough to fit him on your roster still, but make sure he’s not available in any deeper leagues or five-outfielder leagues.
Yahoo and ESPN Most Added Players

Noah Schultz and Jeffrey Springs are both great waiver wire options for the reasons I already stated above, which leaves three players to break down on Yahoo’s most-added list. Grant Holmes was the most popular Monday streamer, and he ended up allowing three runs on three hits and two walks with three strikeouts over four innings against the Marlins. He was pulled quickly after only throwing 59 pitches, with the Braves’ manager saying they just wanted to keep him rested after being taxed in his last outing. His three starts before this one were all very solid, making him a good option to hold onto moving forward. Maurico Dubon has been red-hot as of late, batting .373 with two home runs over the past 14 days. I can’t say I’m overly confident in him being fantasy relevant all season, but his quadruple-eligibility is especially handy in deeper leagues. Angel Martínez has also been hot, and he homered again on Monday night. He’s a fine add in deeper leagues to play the hot hand, but like Dubon, don’t expect elite production permanently.

The most-added list on ESPN is nearly identical to Yahoo, making this a very brief paragraph. The only player we haven’t already discussed is Chandler Simpson, who is rostered in 76% of Yahoo leagues compared to 52.8% on ESPN. If you’re miraculously in a league where he is available, pick him up, as he’s batting .411 with seven stolen bases this season. You won’t find a bigger contributor in those two categories combined, so he should be considered a must-roster player at this point.
Streaming Pitchers
Be sure to check out Nick Pollack’s SP Streamer Rankings to figure out who you need to start, stream, or sit each day this season. There is one name that I particularly like for today.
Ryan Weathers (NYY), SP (32% Rostered on Yahoo)
Ryan Weathers got off to a rocky start this season, but turned it around by throwing eight one-run innings against the Athletics last week. He struck out seven and didn’t walk a single batter. It’s important not to let two bad starts at the beginning of the year throw away all of the sleeper appeal he had this draft season, and now today he gets to face the strikeout-prone Angels. That makes him an easy recommendation to stream, but you should also plan to hold him past this start, as his upside is much greater than most other pitchers on the waiver wire.
Speculative Adds
Sam Antonacci (CHW), 2B/3B (8% Rostered on Yahoo)
There were initial reports that the White Sox were calling up Sam Antonacci at the same time as Noah Schultz, but additional reports clarified that they only considered it. It doesn’t look like he will be getting the promotion today, but at this point, it could happen any day now. The 23-year-old has been excellent in Triple-A this season, slashing .289/.484/.444 with two homers and five steals. He has posted an insane 23.8% walk rate and 11.1% strikeout rate, and is coming off of a 48-steal season in 2025. The mix of great on-base skills, above-average speed, and growing power could make him a solid fantasy option once he gets the call. He’ll start with second and third base eligibility in Yahoo leagues, but will also pick up outfield eligibility fairly quickly.
