Two-Start Pitchers: 6/17 – 6/23

Previewing two-start pitchers for the upcoming week.

Welcome to another edition of the 2024 two-start pitcher rankings!

My rankings have four tiers: Set and Forget, Probably Start, Questionable, and Avoid. Set and Forget starters are simply that; get them in your lineup and don’t think twice. The Most Likely Start tier includes players with the mix of skill and matchups that make them almost certainly two-start plays, but not without some elevated risk compared to the top tier. Questionable starters are those best suited for daily lineup leagues where you can bench them against the tougher of their two opponents or are more situation-dependent in weekly leagues. Finally, we have the Avoid tier, which includes two start SPs who should remain on your bench or the wire.

Each week, I’ll be selecting my Two-Start Streamer of the Week. The criteria for a streamer will be a rostered rate under 50% in Yahoo leagues. The Streamer of the Week will be highlighted in the tables in green. Reach out to me in the PL+ Discord or on Twitter @AnthonyTucker81  and let me know if you’d grade the weekly streamer as a win or loss.

As a friendly reminder, the projected starters are just that, projections and subject to change.

Set and Forget

  • This week’s slate is light across the board: there are a few aces you’ll get a double dose of next week and equally few streamers you can feel confident in that are available in most leagues.  The top tier has a pair of potential honorable mentions as Max Fried may only make one start if both Hurston Waldrep and Spencer Schwellenbach remain in the rotation while assuming any projected start (or workload) for Bryan Woo feels tentative at best.

Most Likely

  • Coming off an excellent performance against the red-hot Yankees, Alec Marsh deserves your attention against the A’s. While the Rangers have struggled offensively all season, he’s much more of a toss-up against the reigning champs.

Skenes? Whois a better stash Williams cle. Or Baz TB .

    • Anthony Tucker says:

Hey Peter, with Skenes getting moved from Sunday to Monday, he would jump to the top of the rankings for me (especially with Fried’s second start not a guarantee).

Given Baz’s last start in the minors, he’s a more exciting option (not to say Williams isn’t), however, Williams is the slight lean for me because I can stash him on my IL instead of a bench spot

  2. Peter Guigli says:

I grab Baz. I should have grab Williams. For the reasons you mentioned.
