Privacy Policy

This privacy policy has been compiled to better serve those who are concerned with how their ‘Personally Identifiable Information’ (PII) is being used online. PII, as described in US privacy law and information security, is information that can be used on its own or with other information to identify, contact, or locate a single person, or to identify an individual in context. Please read our privacy policy carefully to get a clear understanding of how we collect, use, protect or otherwise handle your Personally Identifiable Information in accordance with our websites and applications.

This Privacy Policy applies to PitcherList.com, the Pitcher List Pro Dashboard at pro.pitcherlist.com (“PL Pro Dashboard”), related Pitcher List tools and services, and our browser extension (together, the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to the practices described here.

What personal information do we collect?

Depending on how you use the Services, we may collect:

Account information — username, email address, password (stored in hashed form), and related profile details when you register or sign in.

Subscription and membership information — status of your Pitcher List / PL Pro membership used to authorize access to paid features. Payment card details for subscriptions are processed by our payment providers on PitcherList.com; we do not store full credit card numbers in the PL Pro Dashboard.

PL Pro Dashboard data — settings, preferences, tutorial progress, and content you generate or export within the Dashboard (such as chart images or CSV exports you choose to download).

Fantasy league and team data — when you connect a fantasy provider or sync a league, we may collect league identifiers and names, team names and IDs, rosters, lineups, standings, matchups, and similar fantasy sports data associated with your account.

OAuth and authentication tokens — for providers that use OAuth (for example, Yahoo Fantasy), we store access and refresh tokens needed to sync your leagues. Session tokens or cookies are used to keep you signed in to the PL Pro Dashboard and related tools.

Browser extension data — when you use the Pitcher List browser extension to sync supported fantasy platforms, we collect the fantasy team/league data you choose to sync. Extension-specific practices are also described in our Browser Extension Privacy Policy.

Usage and analytics data — product analytics and site analytics that help us understand how the Services are used (for example, pages viewed, feature usage, and technical events). This may include a user identifier associated with your account when you are signed in.

Technical information — such as browser type, device information, IP address, and similar log data used for security, troubleshooting, and service operation.

Communications — information you provide when you contact us, subscribe to newsletters, or respond to surveys.

When do we collect information?

We collect information from you when you register on our site, purchase or manage a subscription, sign in to the PL Pro Dashboard, connect or sync fantasy providers, use certain site or Dashboard features, install or use our browser extension, sign up for communications, or otherwise enter information into the Services.

How do we use your information?

We may use the information we collect from you when you register, make a purchase, sign up for our newsletter, respond to a survey or marketing communication, surf the website, use the PL Pro Dashboard, or use certain other site features in the following ways:

• To create and manage your account and authenticate you.

• To provide, operate, and improve the Services, including fantasy league sync, projections, leaderboards, Live Draft Assistant, and other PL Pro tools.

• To personalize your experience and to allow us to deliver the type of content and product offerings in which you are most interested.

• To process memberships and verify access to paid features.

• To improve our website and applications in order to better serve you.

• To allow us to better service you in responding to your customer service requests.

• To send service-related notices and, where permitted, marketing communications.

• To protect the security and integrity of the Services and prevent fraud or abuse.

• To analyze usage of the Services so we can improve features and reliability.

How do we protect your information?

We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. The Services are served over HTTPS/TLS. Passwords are stored in hashed form. Access to account and fantasy data is limited to authenticated users and systems that need that access to operate the Services.

Payment card processing for subscriptions is handled by our payment providers. We do not store full credit card numbers in the PL Pro Dashboard.

No method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your information.

Do we use ‘cookies’?

Yes. Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computer’s hard drive through your Web browser (if you allow) that enables the site’s or service provider’s systems to recognize your browser and capture and remember certain information. For instance, we use cookies to help us remember and process the items in your shopping cart. They are also used to help us understand your preferences based on previous or current site activity, which enables us to provide you with improved services. We also use cookies to help us compile aggregate data about site traffic and site interaction so that we can offer better site experiences and tools in the future.

On the PL Pro Dashboard, we also use cookies and similar technologies (including local or session storage) to maintain your signed-in session (including optional “keep me logged in” sessions), support single sign-on with our browser extension, and enable product analytics where configured.

We use cookies to:

• Keep you signed in and secure your session on PitcherList.com and the PL Pro Dashboard.

• Compile aggregate data about site traffic and site interactions in order to offer better site experiences and tools in the future. We may also use trusted third-party services that track this information on our behalf.

• Support advertising measurement and interest-based advertising on PitcherList.com (as described below).

You can choose to have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can choose to turn off all cookies. You do this through your browser settings. Since browsers differ, look at your browser’s Help Menu to learn the correct way to modify your cookies.

If you turn cookies off, some features will be disabled. Authentication and personalization features on the PL Pro Dashboard may not function properly without cookies or similar storage.

Third-party disclosure

We do not sell your Personally Identifiable Information. We may share information with service providers who help us operate the Services (for example, hosting, analytics, payment processing, and email delivery), with fantasy platform providers when you authorize a connection, or when required by law. Those providers are permitted to use your information only to perform services for us or as otherwise disclosed in this policy.

Third-party services and links

PitcherList.com may include third-party advertising and links. The PL Pro Dashboard may connect to third-party fantasy sports platforms (including, without limitation, Yahoo Fantasy, ESPN Fantasy, CBS Sports Fantasy, Fantrax, and NFC/NFBC) when you choose to authorize or sync those services. Your use of those third-party services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We do not control how those platforms collect or use your data on their sites.

California Online Privacy Protection Act

CalOPPA is the first state law in the nation to require commercial websites and online services to post a privacy policy. According to CalOPPA, we agree to the following:

Users can visit our public website content without creating an account. Certain features, including the PL Pro Dashboard, require an account and an active membership.

Does our site allow third-party behavioral tracking?

PitcherList.com uses third-party advertising and analytics partners as described in this policy. The PL Pro Dashboard uses product and site analytics to improve the service; it is not used to sell your personal information to advertisers.

COPPA (Children Online Privacy Protection Act)

When it comes to the collection of personal information from children under the age of 13 years old, the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) puts parents in control. The Federal Trade Commission, United States’ consumer protection agency, enforces the COPPA Rule, which spells out what operators of websites and online services must do to protect children’s privacy and safety online.

We do not specifically market to children under the age of 13 years old. The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Fair Information Practices

The Fair Information Practices Principles form the backbone of privacy law in the United States and the concepts they include have played a significant role in the development of data protection laws around the globe. Understanding the Fair Information Practice Principles and how they should be implemented is critical to comply with the various privacy laws that protect personal information.

In order to be in line with Fair Information Practices we will take the following responsive action, should a data breach occur:

We will notify you via email

• Within 1 business day

We also agree to the Individual Redress Principle which requires that individuals have the right to legally pursue enforceable rights against data collectors and processors who fail to adhere to the law. This principle requires not only that individuals have enforceable rights against data users, but also that individuals have recourse to courts or government agencies to investigate and/or prosecute non-compliance by data processors.
