The 2025 season is upon us! Free agents have signed, spring training battles are shaking out, and version 4 of PLV projections is here:
- Updated playing time. Playing time estimates reflect the FA signings, and their estimated lineup location (including for players on new teams). I've done my best to manually update playing time where necessary (especially in regards to major injuries. Sorry Gerrit Cole fans.)
- Projections now include Stuff-based estimates. Our preliminary Stuff model helps to inform pitcher statistics, and even slightly adjust hitter statistics.
- Stat distributions have been re-balanced. Projections have still been fairly conservative for my taste and have been adjusted to better reflect observed MLB stat distributions.
