Adam Ottavino’s Slider – The season is winding down, but Ottavino’s slider hasn’t lost a step. This pitch has been one of the nastiest pitches all season, and one look at this frisbee is enough to know why.

Max Fried’s Curveball – Fried’s big loopy curveball was on display in a one-inning outing on Thursday, freezing fellow left-hander Brandon Nimmo. What a way to start an at-bat.

Steve Cishek’s Sinker – Cishek is one of the rare sidearmers who can hit the 90’s. While that’s impressive enough, he gets nice arm-side run and can locate it right on the outside corner. Unfair.

C.C. Sabathia’s Slider – Sabathia may have got himself ejected from this game, but the meanest thing he did might have been forcing rookie Jake Bauers to try and handle this wicked slider off the black. That’s just not fair.

Matt Hall’s Curveball – Hall was Detroit’s minor league pitcher of the year, and was highly regarded as having one of the best curveballs in the system. It’s not hard to see why after seeing this big heavy breaking ball get a big whiff from Tyler Austin.

Ben Lively’s Fastball – I’m a sucker for tight two-seam fastballs that are located well. Ben Lively is never going to win any Cy Young awards, but this is a fun pitch that Greg Allen, or anyone for that manner, would have a hard time handling.
