Sandy Alcántara Total Strikeouts
With the Phillies having been officially eliminated last night, there could be a chance they sit some of their regulars tonight. Regardless, six strikeouts seem like a reasonable return for Sandy Alcántara considering he’s cleared that total in eight of his last nine starts. There is perhaps some added incentive too for Alcántara in that he finds himself just five strikeouts away from 200 for the year. He’s been one of the bright spots for Miami this year posting a career-best 17.9 K-BB% and 1.07 WHIP. Facing a down-and-out Phillies team, I’m looking for the big righty to finish out the season on a high note.

Twins at Royals Total Runs
I like our chances of seeing some offense on both sides of this game as we’ll see two suspect pitchers. For the Twins, it’ll be John Gant who has allowed a walk rate of 14.7%. He had some moments early on in the season, but his walks along with an underwhelming K rate of 19% is a recipe for runs.
For the Royals, they will send out Jon Heasley who will be making just his third start of the year. Heasley had some success in Double-A this year posting a 19.9 K-BB% across 105.1 IP, but through his first two starts, he’s shown just a 13.5% K rate. I’m going to side with the Twins here as they still have productive hitters that can do damage in Byron Buxton, Josh Donaldson, Jorge Polanco, and Max Kepler.
Pick: Over 9.5 (-110 DraftKings)
Yoán Moncada Home Run and White Sox Win
Admittedly this is a real dart throw but, hey, it’s the last Friday of the year so why not have a little fun and try and go out with a bang? Wily Peralta has been skating along with a 3.08 ERA across 18 starts. He’s done a decent job eating innings for the Tigers but we know he can’t keep this up. If you look at his career splits he’s been more susceptible to lefties allowing a .352 wOBA to them for his career so while all the big hitters for the White Sox are decent gambles tonight I’m going to roll with Yoán Moncada here.
On the mound today the White Sox will have Lance Lynn who, despite his blowup last time out, has been phenomenal this year overall with a 20.5 K-BB% while holding opposing batters to just a .249 xwOBA. He’ll look to contain a light-hitting Tigers team that has managed just a .302 wOBA against RHP this year, good for 23rd.
