When on the field, Ketel Marte has been an elite hitter this season. Batting .344 through 32 games with 16 RBI and 20 runs, Marte’s production has been across the board. While we would like a little more power, the excellent AVG more than makes up for it.

After posting a .298 AVG since the start of 2019, David Fletcher got off to a very slow start. Fletcher has turned it back on over the past few weeks hitting .318 across his last 25 games, raising his AVG back up to .273 on the year. Based on his track record, Fletcher should be a solid contributor in the category moving forward.

With the exception of maybe Vladimir Guerrero Jr., there is no hotter bat right now than Matt Olson. Slashing .361/.431/.711 over the past month, Olson is now up to 19 bombs on the year. The power has always been there for Olson, but he has even added in a very good AVG and has cut his K% in half.

Adam Duvall has more RBI than Fernando Tatis Jr., Nolan Arenado, and J.D. Martinez this year. Just do not expect much in terms of batting average.

Since returning from the injured list at the end of May, Starling Marte is 5-for-5 in SB attempts and now has eight on the year in 33 games. Marte is about as bankable as they get when it comes to steals and it would be pretty safe to assume he will be among the league leaders come year’s end.

Christian Yelich has not quite bounced back the way we had all hoped in 2021. The man might not be hitting, but he is getting on base at an elite level. The former MVP owns a .413 OBP and has walked 31 times in 38 games. With only eight extra-base hits, one would have to assume Yelich’s bat will get hot at some point.

Over the past 16 games, Andrew McCutchen has an OBP of .400 as well as 14 RBI and an OPS of 1.048. Cutch has been on quite the run of late and as long as you can sacrifice the AVG (or you are in an OBP league), he is not a bad option as a third outfielder.

In a year where both Luis Castillo and Sonny Gray have struggled to stay healthy or with inconsistencies, Mahle has been sensational for the Reds. His FIP and xFIP also suggest he has been as good as if not better than his 3.39 ERA show.

Taijuan Walker has found a home in Queens. Walker has gone 5-1 over his last seven outings with an ERA of 1.54 while lowering his season-long mark to 2.12. He has done an excellent job at keeping the ball in the park, which has been one of his bugaboos over the years. His biggest obstacle has always been health, but so far so good for the 28-year old right-hander.

Brad Hand is successful on his last 11 save opportunities and now has converted 14 in 16 chances. There were a lot of concerns coming into 2021 surrounding the former All-Star regarding his dip in velocity, but Hand has silenced them (pun intended). The lefty’s fastball velo is sitting right around his career norm at 93 MPH and is looking like a very reliable closer for fantasy purposes.

Kyle Hendricks has won his last five decisions, posting a 3.16 ERA and a 0.99 WHIP during that span. After just a tumultuous start to the year, Hendricks has looked a lot more Hendricks-ish over the past six weeks or so. He has been such a consistent pitcher over the past seven years there was no reason to ever doubt him, and he is rewarding those who were patient.
