Chad Qualls‘ Fastball – We don’t feature Qualls often, but the ride on this Fastball was too much to ignore. Notice how batter Brock Holt jumps off the plate as the pitch sweeps all the way across to the outside corner. Crazy good movement. (Thanks to @Big_Ed_McKinley for the tip!)
Mike Fiers‘ Curveball – Every so often Fiers can strikeout a boatload of batters, and he did just that last night in Arizona. Across 10 strikeouts was this huge Curveball to opposing pitcher Zack Godley.
Francisco Liriano’s Changeup – There were a bunch of pitches to choose from across Liriano’s 11 K performance against the Nationals, and this Changeup stood out above the rest. Just look at how it starts right along the outside corner before getting a late tail that pulls it off the plate. A perfect 1-2 pitch.
Bartolo Colon’s Fastball – Colon’s bread-and-butter is his Two-Seamer that features a ton of horizontal movement. He often leaves right-handers stunned with a back-door Fastball, and did just that against Enrique Hernandez yesterday.
Clayton Kershaw’s Curveball – To no one’s surprise, Kershaw easily handled the Mets yesterday in yet another CGSHO. We were able to get a good look at his signature bender in slow-motion as it victimized Ruben Tejada.
