The schedule promises to be one of the most enjoyable yet as we all eagerly await the participants for the Home Run Derby.
Until then, let’s binge on what happened on Super Sunday!
Today’s Headlines
Brotherly Love Of Baseball Wins, Every Time!
The lovely moment of the day came courtesy of Big League brothers Tyler Rogers and Taylor Rogers. The two arms, representing the Giants and the Padres respectively, played catch on a major league field for the first time ever. From the backyard to the bigs, this is what baseball is all about.
Last night, Tyler and Taylor Rogers were sipping their postgame beers together. One of them said to the other, “You know, we’ve been catch partners our whole lives but we’ve still never played catch on a major league field.” So today, they are. pic.twitter.com/ifwQEadBIn

The Giants cruised to a 12-0 win over the Padres on the back of a masterful display from Alex Wood. It was as smooth as this…

Gross Way To Lose It Robbie
It is one of those streaks that you realize was never really a thing until it ends. Tigers leadoff man Robbie Grossman was riding a wave of 440 games without an error in the Major Leagues until this play yesterday allowed Luis Robert to reach second base.

Losing the ball in the sun and dropping a routine fly ball is gross way to lose such a record, but we have to give the veteran credit, that’s a cracking achievement in this day and age.
Robbie Grossman's 440-game errorless streak is snapped, as Luis Robert cruises into second base. His last error had been June 13, 2018.
It was the longest errorless streak by a position player in MLB history.

The Cal product was back in the Bay Area to face the hapless Oakland Athletics and had his family and close friends in attendance. The hyped youngster registered three hits and three RBI, including a double with the bases loaded, as the Astros swept the series and sit comfortably atop the AL West.

Best Moments From Yesterday
Sandy’s Incredible Pitch
Someone needs to give this pitch a name! Deserving of it’s own trademark, this vicious and nasty fastball from All-Star Miami Marlins starter Sandy Alcantara was just gorgeous to watch. Smoking hot baseball!

Miami Heats Up As Pirates Come To Town
If you can’t enjoy yourself on the field as a Pittsburgh Pirates player then you have to go all out to make it up off the field. So, when the team knew the next stop in their schedule was the Magic City, they all agreed on a style to arrive in.

Piggyback Playtime
Cute baseball moment courtesy of Rays reliever Jason Adam!
Little man got to go on the field before the game. Then he told Rays players his legs were tired and it was his birthday
So relief pitcher Jason Adam gave him a piggyback ride back to his dad 🥹

Injuries
The devastating news across fantasy baseball (and for home run lovers everywhere) is that Astros star slugger Yordan Alvarez has landed on the injured list with a troublesome hand injury. The news everyone did not want to see.
It was a rough weekend for the Rays as they were forced into sending star infielder Wander Franco, veteran defensive star Kevin Kiermaier, and handy lefty Jeffrey Springs all to the injured list. Ouch!
Veteran Royals fantasy starlet Whit Merrifield’s status is also in danger as the productive hitter was removed from the game against the Guardians yesterday with a sore toe. X-rays came back negative but he will undergo an MRI.
