Noah Syndergaard’s Fastball – Thor took the hill for the Mets Sunday night and didn’t disappoint across 5.2 innings as he struck out 9 Cubs en route to a New York victory. Watch him stun Miguel Montero with this 99 MPH heater with more movement than should be legal at that velocity.
Jake Arrieta’s Changeup – It wasn’t Jake’s best after allowing 3 ER from the first three batters he faced, but he settled down to keep Chicago in the game. In his final pitch of the evening, Arrieta got some revenge on Daniel Murphy, painting the inside corner with this pretty Changeup.
Matt Harvey’s Curveball – Despite all of the drama near the end of the season, Harvey pitched seven excellent innings at Citi Field, striking out nine while allowing just two runs. He started strong, and fanned Kyle Schwarber with this solid hook off the plate, inducing one of the weaker swings you’ll see.
Yordano Ventura’s Fastball – The Royals are alive in the playoffs, which means we get to see more filthy pitches from Ventura, like this 97 MPH Fastball to Ben Revere that sneaks back over the plate for the backwards K.
Jeurys Familia’s Sinker – I could have an article just of Familia pitches, as he has some of the nastiest stuff of any reliever in the bigs. Just watch this 0-1 Sinker at 97 MPH to Jorge Soler that had a bigger drop than a Skrillex track.
