Every morning, the We Love Baseball crew reviews the Nastiest Pitches from the previous day’s games in glorious high-definition GIFs. We want to bring you the highest caliber of nastiness possible, so if you see a nasty pitch, please tell us about it. You can tweet @PitcherList to let us know, and we’ll give you a shout-out here in the article if your tip makes the cut.
As a bonus for PL+ members, let us know about a pitch on the PL+ Discord in the Nasty Pitches Channel, and if your suggestion is included the next day, you’ll be entered into a weekly drawing for a free T-shirt!
José Berríos‘ Curveball
https://gfycat.com/melodicoblongequestrian
José Berríos got absolutely crushed in this game, to the tune of eight earned runs in four innings. This was his only strikeout of the day but it was still a filthy curveball to get Josh Naylor.
Trevor Richards‘ Changeup

Trevor Richards came in later on in relief and also fooled Josh Naylor with this disgusting changeup that tumbled far out of the zone
Aroldis Chapman’s Splitter
https://gfycat.com/legitimatedetailedamericanredsquirrel
Aroldis Chapman has been relegated to setup duty in New York, but I think if he increased his splitter usage he’d be more effective. This pitch is insane.
Aroldis Chapman’s Sinker

Chapman’s sinker still has that triple digit bite to it as well. I don’t think we’ve seen the end of his dominance just quite yet.
Adam Ottavino’s Slider
https://gfycat.com/lightslushyicefish
Adam Ottavino’s slider is a legendary pitch, and it’s still got that nasty bite.
Collin McHugh’s Slider
https://gfycat.com/helplessbrokenclam
Speaking of nasty bite, Collin McHugh’s slider also possesses some special movement that always seems to find its’ way into GIF form.
Alex Lange’s Changeup
https://gfycat.com/reliablepleasingleafhopper
Alex Lange’s changeup is a pitch that’s come out of nowhere to be one of the nastiest changeups in the league this year. Much like Trevor Richards‘ changeup, not too many people know how nasty the pitch is. Keep an eye out for this one.
Cionel Pérez’s Sinker
https://gfycat.com/sorecostlygaur
This pitch was never a strike, but it still got an insane amount of movement and completely fooled David Peralta.
Matt Brash’s Slider
https://gfycat.com/everlastingpeskyaustraliankestrel
Matt Brash has had an up and down year, but his slider is still among the nastiest pitches in the game when he’s on the major league roster.
Carlos Rodón’s Slider

Here’s a gorgeous, painted slider from Carlos Rodón to send you into the rest of your weekend.
