It’s been another exciting week of baseball with many excellent pitches from around the league. You’ve been voting all week, now the top pitches battle for the crown of “Pitching GIF of the Week”. Who will win? Did we miss your favorite pitch? Send us a tweet next time @ThePitcherList and we’ll GIF it up + give you a shoutout here in the article.
Carter Capps‘ Slider – No one can touch this guy and it’s so dang fun to watch. Throwing the highest perceived velocity in the game will induce swings like this one from Matt Duffy on a Slider that doesn’t even come close to the strike zone. Batters are simply helpless.
Steven Matz’s Curveball – It was a sterling debut for the Mets’ latest prospect, and you can read all about it with 12 GIFs in his GIF Breakdown. Our favorite of the outing was this Curveball that twisted Reds superstar Joey Votto into a knot of confusion.
R.A. Dickey’s Knuckleball – Dickey is the sole supply of steady Knucklers in the league, and he gave us a beauty Monday night. Does this ball even go through one full revolution?
Kyle Hendricks‘ Fastball – The Mets were silenced Tuesday evening as Hendricks cruised through six innings of work. He started the game off well, earning a backwards K against Curtis Granderson with this sweet front-door Fastball.
Bartolo Colon’s Fastball – After struggling in his previous pair of starts, Colon pitched a gem against the Cubs, silencing Chicago across seven innings. He struck out Kris Bryant twice, including this K with a Fastball that never stops riding inside.
Kevin Gausman’s Changeup – Gausman’s finally has a secure role in the rotation with a Split-Changeup can be straight-up filthy. Josh Hamilton has no choice but to chase this 1-2 pitch as it fades away from his bat.
