Every week we’ll recommend three two-start pitchers for those in weekly leagues, focusing on those who are owned in under 50% of ESPN leagues. Get a leg up on your opponents and snatch them up before the week rolls around.
Matt Shoemaker (@SEA, @MIN) – There is some concern that he may not be ready to go by Monday, but he’s easily the best two start guy hanging on your wire if he makes it back. There’s definitely a chance that he blows up like he has in the past, but he has major K upside and gets two fantastic matchups with Seattle and Minnesota.
Tyler Duffey (DET, LAA) – You may see the Detroit matchup as something to be afraid of, but they rank in the bottom third of offenses in the 2nd half of the season. Duffey isn’t the most attractive pitcher to throw out there, but with slim pickings as many teams either shift to a six man rotation or have no ownable options via off days, Duffey is one of the more attractive upside candidates around.
Tom Koehler (@NYM, @WAS) – For those truely desperate, there is Tom Koehler who can spin a good start on a given night. This is for those desperate to log those innings, and it comes at the right time for Koehler who just struck out ten Brewers across eight innings of work. Not recommended for the faint of heart.
