Yordano Ventura’s Curveball – Today is an odd edition of GotN as the nastiest of yesterday all came via the Curveball. Ventura has one of the sharpest hooks in the game and watch it baffle Jason Kipnis as it falls under the strikezone for the punchout.
Jose Quintana’s Curveball – Quintana has been a steady producer for the ChiSox and produced a solid start for the ball club Thursday afternoon. He silenced catcher Josh Phegley with one of his solid sweeping Curveballs to strikeout the side in the seventh.
Matt Moore’s Curveball – It was the first dominant outing from Moore all season as he’s returned from TJS as he shut down the Orioles. He threw a hefty dose of excellent benders through the outing, but this yacker that fell back into the zone against Matt Wieters was our favorite.
Justin Grimm’s Curveball – It was a slugfest in Pittsburgh yesterday, but fortunately for Chiacgo, Grimm was able to douse the fire and hold the lead for the playoff bound Cubs. He ended the inning with this nasty Curveball to Jordy Mercer that kept darting away from Mercer’s bat. (Thanks to @matt_wells16 for the tip!)
Lance McCullers’ Curveball – The Astros couldn’t prevent a tough sweep from the Rangers, but McCullers gave it his all in the series finale. The rookie has a great breaking ball and its heavy action was enough to induce a whiff from Shin-Soo Choo.
