Jose Urena’s Fastball – Urena struck out six in five scoreless innings on Wednesday. He used his nasty two-seam fastball, running it up to 96 miles per hour and in on the hands of Daniel Robertson.

Aaron Nola’s Curveball – It was a Happy Independence Day, but an equally happy Nola Day for his fantasy owners. Nola struck out nine in seven strong innings of work. That included this nasty curveball that absolutely baffled poor Mark Trumbo for strike three in the third inning.

Trevor Bauer’s Slider – There are a handful of pitchers who are nearly automatic selections for this post each day that they pitch. Indians ace pitcher Trevor Bauer has worked his way into that conversation. The hardest part for today was picking which of Bauer’s pitches to nominate – although this nasty breaking ball right on the outside black certainly made it easier.

Brandon Morrow’s Fastball – 99 with late arm-side run gets you a place on this list 100% of the time. Brandon Morrow, as it turns out, finds himself on this list quite often. Coincidence? I think not.

Blake Treinen’s Slider – It’s gotten to the point where you could probably pick any one of Treinen’s pitches with a blindfold on and it would deserve consideration on this list. Here we went with his trademark 90 mile per hour slider that appears to fall from the sky. Good luck hitting that.

Gerrit Cole’s Curveball – Cole gave up four runs in five innings on Wednesday, but still managed to strike out seven thanks to his nasty curveball, which he placed perfectly on the outside black here to Ronald Guzman.

Marcus Stroman’s Slider – It wasn’t a great outing for Stroman, who gave up six runs without making it out of the fifth inning. However, his slider was on point here – just grazing the outside corner for an unhittable strike.

Hardest choice for me in a pretty long time.
Disappointed not to see Hicks insane sinker vs. AJ Pollock last night. Maybe missed cause of the late game but would’ve been my vote over these.
