Luis Perdomo’s Fastball – Perdomo may not seem like that exciting of a pitcher but his two seam fastball is almost impossible to hit when it bends in on you like this.  He racked up 7 Ks in just 4 innings thanks in large part to his fastball.

Jacob DeGrom’s Changeup – Tommy Pham was defenseless against DeGrom’s changeup which had some great horizontal movement in on his hands, causing this big whiff.

Michael Wacha’s Curveball – Wacha’s curveball dropped right in on a surprised Yoenis Cespedes who could do nothing but watch it land in the zone.   This 76.5 MPH big bendy curve came in after 3 straight mid 90’s fastballs, making it even more deadly.

Zack Greinke’s Changeup – Greinke gave up just 1 run and struck out 9 over 5.2 innings.  His curveball usage was limited but his 12-6 movement makes it lethal when used at the right time.

Dellin Betances‘ Curveball – Josh Donaldson was lost against this Betances curve and who wouldn’t be? Good night and farewell when this one comes your way.  It’s a tantalizing pitch until you realize it’s not going to end up in the zone, but by then it’s too late.

Luis Castillo’s Changeup – Check out that nice sinking action on Castiollo’s changeup.  That’s the stuff hitters’ nightmares are made of.  That 86 MPH beauty came in AFTER a 82.7 MPH slider, making it all that much more lethal.

Matt Shoemaker’s Splitter – Shoemaker made it though 5 innings scoreless on Saturday, thanks in large part to his splitter.  This has always been his best knockout pitch and that late drop at the end makes hitting look silly if they are expecting a straight fastball.
