As we head into the final few months of the regular season, let’s take a look at some of the top hitting performances from the past two weeks and what they could mean for dynasty fantasy baseball managers.
Zyhir Hope, OF, Detroit Tigers
Hope, an 11th-round pick by the Dodgers, has quickly developed into one of the top prospects in baseball and has put together an outstanding season. On the year, he is slashing .293/.369/.530 with a .899 OPS and 23 home runs. Best known for his power, Hope was acquired by the Tigers in the blockbuster trade that sent Tarik Skubal to Los Angeles, and he has continued to elevate his prospect stock.
July was especially impressive, as Hope hit .372/.439/.745 with a 1.184 OPS and 10 home runs. While the power has always been evident, his ability to hit both right-handed and left-handed pitching has been equally encouraging. He is batting .283 against righties and .323 against lefties, demonstrating the balanced offensive profile needed to become a middle-of-the-order bat.
Dynasty managers should continue to stash Hope wherever possible. With his combination of power, improving all-around approach, and rapidly developing hit tool, he has the potential to make a significant fantasy impact in the coming years.
Murf Gray, 3B, Pittsburgh Pirates
Another prospect making plenty of noise with his bat is Pirates third baseman Murf Gray. The 2025 draft pick has climbed through three levels this season, dramatically boosting both his prospect stock and dynasty value.
Across all levels, Gray is slashing .314/.406/.588 with a .994 OPS and 26 home runs. While his .209 batting average since reaching Double-A may not jump off the page, the underlying numbers remain encouraging. He owns an .846 OPS at the level while posting an outstanding 19.6% walk rate, showing advanced plate discipline despite the adjustment period.
Gray has also demonstrated the ability to hit both right-handed and left-handed pitching, batting over .300 against each. He is primarily a pull hitter, sporting a 46.2% pull rate, but the raw power continues to translate into game production.
As he becomes more comfortable in Double-A, expect the results to improve. Gray has the offensive upside to develop into a middle-of-the-order run producer, and dynasty managers could see him make his major league debut sometime during the 2027 season.
Josue Briceño, C/1B, Detroit Tigers
Another prospect dynasty managers should keep a close eye on is Tigers prospect Josue Briceño. Signed by Detroit as an international free agent in 2022, Briceño has emerged as one of the organization’s top offensive prospects.
Although he has appeared in just 22 games this season, he has made an immediate impact after reaching Double-A. He has opened August by hitting .333/.333/1.000 with a 1.333 OPS and two home runs. Overall, Briceño is slashing .276/.368/.539 with a .907 OPS and six home runs.
Briceño’s calling card has always been his power, and he projects as a potential 25-to-30 home run hitter at the major league level. His 24.1% strikeout rate is a bit higher than ideal, but considering he continues to hit for average while producing plenty of extra-base damage, it is a tradeoff dynasty managers should be willing to accept.
The Tigers are quietly assembling one of the more exciting young position-player cores in baseball. With Max Clark and Kevin McGonigle already making an impact at the major league level, Briceño could be the next homegrown bat to join them, with a realistic arrival sometime during the 2027 season.
