Today’s Headlines

Mr. 2000

Andrew McCutchen added to his career resume on Sunday, notching his 2,000th hit in front of his home Pittsburgh fans. McCutchen has had an impressive career. The crazy part? McCutchen notched his first hit against the Mets back in 2009.

McClanahan’s Great Season Continues

The Rays continue to build on their AL East lead, partially because of ace Shane McClanahan. McClanahan took the hill against the equally talented Texas Rangers. They were however, no match for him, as he notched his tenth win of the season. McClanahan finished the day pitching seven innings, allowing 4 hits and striking out 5. He now holds a 2.18 ERA to go along with his league leading 10 wins. Even more impressive is the filth he throws at hitters. The season is still early but he is making a strong case for a Cy Young.

Best Moment From Yesterday

Henderson’s Power Knows No Limits

As if the Orioles didn’t need more great young talent, Gunnar Henderson has been another great young contributor to the Orioles’ elite prospects. His latest victim this weekend was a baseball, where he bludgeoned it 462 feet, making it the longest homer to land on Eustad Street—a pretty prestigious feat considering the talents that have played at Camden Yards.

Injuries & Transactions

Colorado Rockies placed CF Charlie Blackmon on the 10-day injured list. Right hand fracture.
