All Rise for Number 300
Aaron Judge is having one of the most prolific offensive seasons in recent memory yet again. Judge leads the league in seemingly every major offensive category and is a massive part of the Yankees’ success this season. On Wednesday night, the 32-year-old hit a major career milestone by launching the 300th home run of his career off of Chad Kuhl:

The home run was already Judge’s 43rd of the season, putting him on pace for well over 50 long balls in 2024. The home run was a huge milestone, but Judge also set an MLB record by being the fastest player to reach this mark by a long shot, breaking Ralph Kiner’s mark of 1,087 games.
More history for The Captain 👏

The only question we need to ask ourselves at this point is how much longer Judge can keep doing this. At 32 years old, Judge is still a prolific power hitter and has a fantastic lineup and hitting environment around him to support his abilities. As long as he can stay healthy for the next few seasons, it probably won’t be long before we celebrate number 400.

Harris Makes a Splash in Return
For the past two months, Michael Harris II has been nursing a dreaded hamstring injury, needing several weeks to recover from a strain that occurred back in June. After a rehab assignment in which Harris was tearing up Triple-A, going 10-for-23 with a home run, he stayed hot in his first at-bat back with Atlanta, hitting a grand slam into the waters of McCovey Cove:

The blast would be Harris’ only hit of the night, but it was more than enough to lift Atlanta to a much-needed victory over San Francisco. Harris wasn’t the only one to go deep in this one–Matt Olson, Austin Riley, and Sean Murphy would each add home runs in a 13-2 shellacking of the Giants. Falling to the third Wild Card spot behind two surging NL West teams in the Padres and Diamondbacks, Atlanta could really use Harris in prime form down the stretch to help secure a playoff spot.
White Sox to Lower Season Ticket Prices in 2025
In a season with seemingly endless sorrow for White Sox fans, it’s been a tall task getting the faithful from the South Side into Guaranteed Rate Field to support the team. On Wednesday, it was announced that season ticket prices will be slashed for the 2025 season:

The cuts to season ticket prices are about 10 percent across the board, a fairly significant discount that will undoubtedly make the purchase more affordable for some fans. White Sox ownership will need to show a commitment to putting a quality on-field product together if they really want to boost ticket sales, but this is a step that at least indirectly shows a need to improve for the fans of this historic franchise.
Best Moments From Yesterday
Clutcher Langford
Down to their last out and facing a three-run deficit, Wyatt Langford provided arguably the biggest moment of his young career on Wednesday night by sending a moon shot over the Green Monster to tie the game:

A two-run bomb from Jonah Heim in the 10th would be enough to give the Rangers an unlikely 9-7 win over the Red Sox.
Go T.J., it’s Your Birthday
Happy Birthday to TJ Friedl, who turned 29 years old on Wednesday! Any plans for your birthday, big guy? Oh, just hitting two home runs to lift your team to victory? Sounds good to me.

Injuries and Other Moves
⚾ Yankees 2B/OF Jazz Chisholm Jr. was officially placed on the 10-day IL with a UCL injury. The Yankees are still assessing the extent of the injury and how much time Jazz will miss, but it’s safe to say we won’t see him for some time. In the meantime, SS Oswald Peraza was recalled from Triple-A to help infield depth.
⚾ In a bit of a shocking move, the Rockies placed C Elias Díaz on waivers. He should land with another team needing a catcher before long.
⚾ Athletics OF Brent Rooker was placed on the paternity list. Congratulations to the Rooker family!
⚾ Diamondbacks recalled SS Blaze Alexander from Triple-A Reno and optioned OF Alek Thomas.
⚾ Dodgers activated SP Walker Buehler from the injured list, and he got the start against Milwaukee on Wednesday, going 3.1 innings and allowing four runs (only one of which was earned).
⚾ Yankees designated RP Enyel De Los Santos for assignment.
⚾ Red Sox signed pitcher Brad Keller to a minor-league contract.
⚾ Nationals released OF Harold Ramírez.
