Every Saturday here at Pitcher List, I review all expected starting pitcher matchups for the week ahead. There are three labels: Start, Maybe, and Sit. Outings marked with a Maybe are circumstantial and dependent on your needs in a 12-teamer, while the other two are self-explanatory. Feel free to question my designations in the comments and we'll dive into it together.

Here's the massive table containing every Week 2 start from 4/10 - 4/16:

I have Triggs, Foltynewicz, Daniel Norris, Andriese & Vizciano. The RP eligibility for Triggs and Andriese gives me the option to start both over Vizciano or start him and one of the 2 in an SP slot. All of these SPs received a Maybe. Is any one’s matchup you’re particularly concerned with that would bet better to lean on the side of caution and sit?

  2. On Friday, you put Finnegan on your “questionable” two-start list. On Saturday, you listed him as “start” for each of his start. Did you change your mind, or does the additive risk make him a worse play with weekly lineups than in a daily league?

You nailed it in the last sentence. I think on a per start basis, I’d most likely run him out there. However, I don’t want to commit for the full week and if the first start against Pittsburgh goes south, which it totally could, that “start” later in the week becomes very questionable.

I know that’s confusing and I wouldn’t argue if you wanted to label both of these Finn starts as “Maybe”, but for now I’m rolling with him on a per-start basis after his impressive command and tweaked mechanics last time out.

Need to pick 2 to start for a deep weekly league. Daniel Norris, Boyd, mike leake, or neris or Benoit. Was leaning neris and norris, but Boyd does have 2 starts. What do you think?

Gsellman @MIA, Lynn @WAS or Walker @SF+@LAD this week, pick one? Leaning towards Gsellman.

  5. Cody says:

    Saturday starts.
    Verlander against Cleveland
    Degrom against Miami
    McCullers against Oakland
    Paxton against Texas

I can only start 3. Who gets left out?

In a deep league 17 teams, I am finding it very difficult to sit pitchers as the majority of the roster is made up with pitchers of questionable quality, and virtually nothing on waivers.
If I followed all the sit recommendations then I would barely start any. A start if desperate category would be good !!
