Ryan Yarbrough’s Changeup and the Nastiest Pitches from 3/4

The nastiest pitches return.

Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday through Spring Training 2021, the We Love Baseball crew reviews the Nastiest Pitches from the previous few days’ games in glorious high-definition GIFs. We want to bring you the highest caliber of nastiness possible, so if you see a nasty pitch, please tell us about it. You can tweet @PitcherList to let us know, and we’ll give you a shout-out here in the article if your tip makes the cut.

As a bonus for PL+ members, let us know about a pitch on the PL+ Discord in the Nasty Pitches Channel, and if your suggestion is included the next day, you’ll be entered into a weekly drawing for a free T-shirt!

This was the second time in the inning that Rays lefty Ryan Yarbrough made Miguel Sano looked silly with another wonderful 80 mph changeup.

It was a pleasant sight to see the mercurial 31-year old Jimmy Nelson finally take the mound as a Dodger after missing the entirety of 2020 with a back injury. This elite “drop-out-of-the-sky” curveball struck out David Bote.

Madison Bumgarner’s Curveball

The old magic looks to be rekindled for veteran Madison Bumgarner after a less than impressive 2020. This trademark 73 mph curveball easily disposed of Phil Gosselin.

Trevor Williams‘ Slider

The excitement behind Trevor Williams‘ move to Chicago was exacerbated today after an impressive two innings of work against a strong Dodgers lineup. This slider completely fooled Matt Davidson for the K.
