Every morning we review the nastiest pitches from the previous day’s games in glorious HD GIFs. Don’t forget to vote for your favorite pitch and check back this weekend to see if it will be in contention for the GIF of the Second Half Contest. Did we miss your favorite pitch? Send us a tweet next time @ThePitcherList and we’ll GIF it up + give you a shoutout here in the article.

Sonny Gray’s Fastball – Gray has been dealing for the Yankees since coming over at the trade deadline and continued his dominance as he earned a Win in Baltimore. We got a great look at his Fastball with the Orioles’ fantastic home camera, specifically with his Two-Seamer that had a boatload of movement in the first game of the double-header. Check out how far it traveled across the plate to Trey Mancini for an early strike.

Adam Ottavino’s Slider – It’s another day featuring Ottavino’s Slutter, but how could we not? He made O’Koyea Dickson chase at this pitch that ended well off the plate, diving into the opposite batter’s box. Ridiculous.

Aaron Nola’s Changeup – Nola has had a few stumbles lately, but rebounded with eight strikeouts as he pitched into the sixth inning. The confidence of throwing a 2-1 Changeup that starts over the middle of the plate is a huge part of his success, especially when it can move like this.

Corey Kluber’s Slider – Okay okay, you’ve seen this pitch a ton by now, but if you’re anything like us, you love watching Kluber’s Slider every time he throws it. Just look at its late break to avoid Adam Engel’s bat.

Kevin Gausman’s Splitter – Gausman held a 16.5% whiff rate in this start against the Yankees despite allowing 5 ER in the contest. You can thank his Splitter for a good amount of them as it was looking pretty right out of the gate to Didi Gregorious.

Ben Heller’s Slider – As many have discussed the surplus of weapons inside the Yankee bullpen, Heller has slipped through the cracks as he’s getting more time with the expanded rosters. When his pitches have this much life, I’m sure we’ll be seeing him plenty in the closing weeks. (Thanks to @Low_rax  for the tip!)
