Happy Friday, all you crazy cats and kittens! Yesterday was a great day of baseball. We’re so lucky to have something as wonderful as Major League Baseball to cheer us up and give us hope throughout the year (especially in February and March, when everyone has a chance at the title). If your team is out of the running now, don’t give up on baseball! Find something new or someone new on your favorite team to root for, a milestone to watch out for, or hop on a bandwagon for a more successful team. Just don’t give up on America’s best sport.
Corn
In case you missed it, MLB’s “Field of Dreams” game was held in Iowa yesterday evening, with the Yankees and White Sox facing off in what turned out to be a barn burner affair. A national audience saw several home runs fly deep into the corn mazes MLB so graciously included around the Field of Dreams Ballpark. Naturally, corn became all the craze during yesterday’s affair:

The correct terminology is “Play catch,” by the way.
A Pair of Star-Crossed MVPs
Ohtani vs. Vlad Jr. has been going on for the past few days but it really ramped up last night, as Ohtani took the mound to face Vladito’s Blue Jays in the rubber match of the series.

Fun fact, shamelessly stolen from Reddit: Since touching Shohei Ohtani’s cup, Miguel Cabrera is slashing .312/.360/.396, with a 130 wRC+.
All That Shake and Bake, and (Some) Dinner!
Prime 1B Albert Pujols was an incredible defender. It seems he hasn’t lost some of that talent as a defender, even with a knuckler off the bat of Ronald Torreyes!
