I have to admit, this is the Terrific Two matchup I expected all along. These are easily the two best pitches I’ve seen all season (in my opinion) so I am not shocked that this is what we’ve ended up with. Two Tampa Bay pitchers, two filthy sinkers, battling it out for the April crown. Both are deserving, but only one can come out on top.

Both great pitches, but McLanahan’s is the only one that ever looked like it would end up in the zone.
That must be why Dahl swung at Castillo’s sinker.
That probably has more to do w/his 25%+ K rate and his Medoza-adjacent AVG.
*Mendoza
This is super close, but 101 mph was the tiebreaker for me. How does anyone hit that?
That too.
