Notes
- We have six new additions this week, which include Ken Giles, Michael Lorenzen, Colin Poche, Roenis Elias, Justin Anderson, and Jacob Webb. Giles spent the minimum amount of time on the IL and should be fine moving forward. There was a ton of hype around Poche entering the season because of his ridiculous strikeoue numbers, and he makes for an interesting add in deeper leagues, especially given the uncertainty in the Rays bullpen at the moment.
- Leaving the list are Julio Urias, Heath Hembree, Jesse Chavez, Dan Winkler, Jeurys Familia, and Tim Mayza. Urias and Chavez are entering their team’s rotations for the time being, although Urias will likely end up back in the pen at some point. Hembree, Familia both hit the IL last week, and Winkler was demoted to Triple-A.
- We had five relievers pick up three SV+HDs this past week: Kirby Yates, Ian Kennedy, A.J. Minter, Liam Hendriks, and Jake Diekman. Kennedy has been on a heater lately, with five of his nine saves this season coming in the past two weeks. He’s pitched well most of the year for Royals and won’t be going anywhere with his bloated contract, so he’s worth a look in most leagues for now.
