  • We have seven new additions this week, which include Craig Kimbrel, Sean Newcomb, Austin Adams, Jake McGee, Chad Green, Andrew Chafin, and Carlos Estevez. Kimbrel recorded his first save as a Cub yesterday, working around a hit and walk to finish the game. His fastball velocity is still a little low, but it should continue to tick upward the more he pitches. Newcomb is back in the Braves bullpen, where he thrived earlier in the year before getting a spot start and subsequently hitting the IL with a concussion.
  • Leaving the list are Blake Treinen, Jordan Hicks, Diego Castillo, Jairo Diaz, Jonathan Holder, Archie Bradley, and Tayron Guerrero. Treinen is already throwing again since being placed on the IL this past weekend, and it looks like a return after the All-Star break could be in the cards. After having the most holds in baseball from 2017 thru 2018, Bradley has taken a massive step back this season as he continues to have the same command issues that plagued him as a starting pitcher. There’s been some unfortunate luck involved as well, but Bradley and his five holds are way off the fantasy radar for this season.
  • Only two relievers had three or more SV+HDs this past week, with Juan Nicasio picking up four holds while Adam Ottavino had three himself. With all the injuries in the Phillies bullpen this year, Nicasio has worked his way into a role as the team’s primary setup man, and while things haven’t always been pretty, he’s more than held his own in the role.

Who would you rather have ROS? Holds mainly but occasional save.
