Trevor Bauer’s changeup – Bauer was, once again, his dominant self yesterday, pitching six innings of shoutout ball and racking up 11 strikeouts, including this changeup to Jake Cave that brought him to his knee.

Jakob Junis‘ slider – I have a lot of pitching GIFs on my computer, and many of those GIFs are of Jakob Junis‘ slider, and watching it, it’s not hard to see why given its sharp movement. Junis was great against the Chicago Cubs, giving up just one run over five innings and striking out eight, including this beautiful slider to Javier Baez.

Dylan Covey’s changeup – Covey wasn’t great, but he wasn’t terrible yesterday, giving up four earned runs over 6.1 innings and striking out five. Here, he tosses a changeup that absolutely wipes out Gleyber Torres.

Lance Lynn’s curveball – Lynn had his best start in a long time yesterday, tossing 7.1 scoreless innings and striking out nine, including this nice curveball to Avisail Garcia.

Kyle Gibson’s changeup – Gibson didn’t have the best outing yesterday against the Cleveland Indians, giving up four runs over five innings and only striking out three, but he did have this nice changeup that sent Leonys Martin golfing.

Charlie Morton’s curveball – Morton was awesome against the Giants yesterday, striking out eight over seven innings and giving up just one run. Here, he perfectly placed a curveball on the black to catch Steven Duggar looking.

Homer Bailey’s changeup – Bailey had a tough outing yesterday, giving up five runs and 11 hits over 3.1 innings and only striking out two, but he did have this pretty changeup to strike out Michael Conforto.

Matt Davidson’s curveball – Yes, that is third baseman Matt Davidson pitching here, and yes, he strikes out reigning MVP Giancarlo Stanton with a surprisingly nasty curveball. Baseball is fun.

During the offseason, we need to see a “Nastiest Pitches from Position Players” article or two.

Matt Davidson’s curveball vs. Chris Davis’ changeup?

Honestly, with as many positional players that have pitched so far this year, we might be able to do it haha
