Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Picks: 6/16

Waiver Wire adds that can make a difference.

Welcome to the Waiver Wire Picks, our daily fantasy baseball article that looks at the best players in baseball that you should be adding to your rosters. We’ll look at the players that are likely to be available in most leagues, as well as some deep league waiver wire options, and we’ll also look at the most added players in fantasy baseball across the major sites, and let you know which players to add, and which players you can leave on the wire.

Top Priority Players to Add

Jacob Misiorowski (MIL) SP (56% Yahoo, 35% ESPN)

The Brewers’ latest pitching factory product looked impressive in his first career start before falling victim to the injury bug. He did allow four free passes during the home contest versus St. Louis, but he also gave up exactly zero hits. The injury being a leg problem was a huge sigh of relief for Milwaukee fans, and it sounds like he’ll be ready for his next rotation turn. The 6-foot-7 right-hander put together a 2.13 ERA in over 63 innings while playing with Nashville. There will be growing pains here, considering he has always had an issue with control and command, but the velocity is there in a special fashion. His next contest will be a tough road matchup against the Chicago Cubs who are second in MLB in run differential.

Jeff McNeil (NYM) 2B, OF (18% Yahoo, 16% ESPN)

McNeil has been one of the best Met hitters in the past few weeks and it would be a breath of fresh air if he continues this trend. Last season was especially a struggle and if he can get back to his true self, the second base market becomes even deeper. As of late, he’s getting the ball in the air and even though he’ll never have all that much impact on the ball itself in terms of exit velocity, McNeil still possesses a lot of talent. Dual eligibility never hurts and an OPS north of .900 always sticks out compared to the rest of the competition. It was only three short seasons ago when McNeil finished 15th in NL MVP voting, reminding us all what he’s capable of doing when he’s at his best.

Roman Anthony (BOS) OF (65% Yahoo, 40% ESPN)

Even though Anthony started his career just 1/16, the roster rate is still extremely too low. There were always going to be growing pains when it came to the best prospect in baseball, that was a given. However, Anthony has loads of talent just waiting to be released. Over 58 games at Triple-A Worcester, a .288/.423/.491 slash line forced Boston’s hand. It was a needed promotion, considering the Red Sox have gotten off to a disappointing start and needed a spark to light their offense. Not many other prospects showed as much patience at the plate as Anthony did in his minor league career, a sign of good things to come in Boston for many years. The depth of fantasy outfield talent has been scarce lately. Grab Anthony before he truly shows his capability at the major league level.

Yahoo and ESPN Most Added Players

The top five most added players include three players previously mentioned above. Roman Anthony and Jeff McNeil boost the outfield depth while Misiorowski is the next shiny toy on the pitching market. Quinn Priester was a valuable streaming option over the weekend, while David Peterson has done nothing but produce in 2025. It comes as a surprise that Peterson is still only rostered in 73% of Yahoo leagues and 58% of ESPN leagues. He just tossed his first-ever shutout, going nine innings strong against the Nationals.

Streaming Pitchers

Lance McCullers Jr. (HOU) @ ATH (45% Yahoo, 19% ESPN)

McCullers Jr. has always shown strikeout upside in his career. The stuff isn’t the question, it’s more of a command issue here. Before his last start, he only surrendered five earned runs with 27 strikeouts over 16.1 innings. After that run of success, his outing against the White Sox wasn’t pretty, though he did rack up six strikeouts. It’s obviously a risky play when dealing with a high strikeout/high walk streamers, but sometimes it’s what is needed to boost team ratios. Matchups against the Athletics and Angels this week tell me to take that chance.

Mick Abel (PHI) @ MIA (37% Yahoo, 19% ESPN)

Besides Andrew Painter, Abel is the best pitching prospect in the Phillies organization. So far in his major league career, he’s been about as solid as a rookie can be. A 2.35 ERA and 1.11 WHIP through three starts is something fantasy managers can’t be mad about. And going up against the lowly Miami Marlins offense on Monday only helps his case in terms of roster-worthiness. His first two starts showed exactly zero free passes, a great trait to see in such a young hurler.

Speculative Adds

Shane Bieber (CLE) SP (32% Yahoo, 13% ESPN)

Bieber was about to start a rehab assignment this past week before putting a pause on things after some discomfort flared up in his elbow. He underwent some tests and everything came back in a positive light, very encouraging news for the recovering ace. This will set him back a bit, but the next step is to resume throwing with a bullpen session. Take advantage of this opportunity and roster Bieber if an IL spot is open. Pitching attrition is a real thing throughout the season and it never hurts to own increased healthy arm depth.
