Jake Odorizzi’s Changeup – Odorizzi started off his night in Toronto with pure filth, striking out Kevin Pillar with a Split-Changeup that we all would have swung over. I’m amazed at how far this pitch travels before hitting the catcher’s mitt as it started looking like an excellent middle-in pitch to slug into the seats.
Jerry Blevins‘ Curveball – It’s no secret Blevins has a pretty Curveball that sweeps across the plate, but we loved watching him freeze Wilson Contreras with this 3-2 pitch that was a borderline strike-three call. How it traveled so far to make it back to the plate is an absolute marvel. (Thanks to @mmetsfan4 for the tip!)
Corey Kluber’s Slider – Kluber had himself another dominant outing, fanning ten Dodgers across seven innings. All his pitches were on point, but this Slider to Corey Seager was just wrong, making the former rookie of the year drop to a knee trying to hit the pitch.
Corey Kluber’s Fastball – It was so much fun to watch Kluber that we had to include another pitch, with this Fastball to Cody Bellinger. The amount of horizontal movement Kluber gets here at 92mph is a joy to watch.
Francis Martes‘ Curveball – Martes had his first start for the Astros on Wednesday evening and impressed with seven Ks and just one ER allowed. One of his strikeouts came with an exclimation point as he fanned Jared Hoying with a Curveball that hit him. Martes’ Curveball is just that good.
Jason Hammel’s Slider – Hammel doesn’t find himself on these roundups often, but we couldn’t deny a spot to this breaking ball that fell right off the table to Denard Span. He’s on a roll now with just five ER allowed in his last three starts and let’s hope it continues moving forward.
Jhoulys Chacin’s Curveball – Chacin has his moments of brilliance and spun a gem against the Reds last night in San Diego. The best pitch of outing was this Curveball to Arismendy Alcantara that featured a massive amount of drop to sneak under Alcantara’s bat.

Jesus that Martes curve
Can you really call it a nasty pitch when it hits the batter?
If it got them to swing, definitely.
