This was Ryan’s first in the majors over 47 starts, with the last happening in 2018 for Cal State, Stanislaus. In that same year, José Berríos pitched a six-hit complete-game shutout against the White Sox on June 7, 2018. Ryan’s performance comes after a rough start last week, allowing a season-high six runs against the Tigers that boosted his ERA to 5.03 for June.

New City Connects

The Pirates unveiled their City Connect uniforms that focus on the black and gold theme that each professional sports team wears in Pittsburgh. The shapes on the uniform are a nod to the “Steelmark” logo, Pittsburgh’s city seal.
