Hurricane Hilary Impacts LA
Our thoughts are with all those impacted by Hurricane Hilary in California. On the baseball side of things, the Angels preemptively rescheduled their Monday game for a Wednesday split doubleheader against the Reds.
Meanwhile, shocking images came out of the area of Dodger Stadium on Monday, with much of the surrounding area completely underwater.
Bryce Harper Goes Yard Without Leaving It
Harper gave the Phitin’s a 5-2 lead in the fifth inning against the Giants via a solo inside-the-park home run. His reaction seemed to indicate that yeah, he’d take it. It’s Harper’s second career inside-the-parker. The Phillies would hold on to the lead the rest of the way, outscoring San Francisco 10-4.

M’s Stay Hot
Another week, another Mariners win streak. The Mariners crushed the White Sox, 14-2 and have now won seven in a row. The AL West is the most entertaining division in baseball, as three teams are now within two games of each other for the division crown.

Walk Off, Pham
Tommy Pham walked off the Rangers in the bottom of the 11th with a two-run double. It was a back-and-forth affair for the two clubs throughout the late innings. While the aforementioned Mariners are streaking, the Rangers have opened the door for their AL West brethren, having now lost five games in a row.

Injuries
A thankfully slow news day for injuries, but Mariners’ rookie starter Emerson Hancock is headed to the IL with a right shoulder strain. The Mariners reinstated J.P. Crawford from the injured list as well.
