One Hit Wonder
Atlanta rookie Jared Shuster claimed his first major league win in an epic fashion. Shuster allowed just one hit in six innings and helped Atlanta win their first series over Seattle in 12 years. Shuster struggled throughout April in his first four starts and was optioned only to be recalled on May 16. He was presented with the lineup card as a keepsake for the win and hopefully pushed his 7.24 ERA down.

The O’s Pull Out Brooms
The Orioles rallied against the Blue Jays, scoring five runs in the 11th inning. With the 8-3 win in Toronto, the Orioles collected their first three-game series sweep against the Blue Jays for the first time since April 2005. This marks the third series sweep this year for the Orioles. The last time the team swept an American League opponent in a three-game series since doing it in Boston in April 2021.

Astros Streak Alert
The Astros have won seven in a row after Framber Valdez shutout the Athletics. Valdez struck out seven and didn’t allow any walks, a far cry from his last appearance. Yesterday’s game was his second complete game shutout and fifth complete game of his career. Unfortunately for the A’s, this was their third shutout in 10 games and seventh overall this season.
