Cade Povich’s Curveball
We will kick things off with a nasty curveball from Povich to Corey Julks. It was the best season start for the 24-year-old, who struck out ten batters in this last-place White Sox lineup.
Chris Sale’s Slider
Sale did not disappoint in a favorable matchup against the Rockies at home. The veteran struck out nine batters while allowing zero runs. His signature slider was working last night, as shown here against Brendan Rodgers.
Paul Skenes‘ Changeup
Skenes decided to show off his changeup last night. The rookie had six punchouts, all coming via the changeup. This one to Ian Happ was one of my favorites.
Devin Williams‘ Changeup
Williams came into the ninth to secure the 3-3 tie for the Brewers. He struck out two, including this nasty changeup to Jordan Walker. Walker tried to hold up but couldn’t quite pull it off.
Joe Jiménez’s Slider
That is one of the best sliders I’ve seen in a while. This movement and placement is something you won’t see quite often. Poor Rodgers is a victim of the slider twice today.
Ben Joyce’s Fastball
This is the fastest strikeout pitch thrown in the pitch-tracking era. 105.5 mph. This was essentially unhittable but very re-watchable.
Ryne Nelson’s Changeup
Nelson had a highly impressive outing versus the Giants where he struck out nine batters over six innings. This changeup was a beauty.
David Festa’s Changeup
This is some impressive movement on this changeup from Festa. The righty pitched five innings and struck out seven Rays at the Trop.
Aaron Civale’s Splitter
Civale used this floating splitter to get Alec Burleson to hack at this ball outside the zone. It was going to be hard to repeat Civale’s performance against the Giants in his previous start, but Civale matched the seven strikeouts he had in that one.
Tanner Bibee’s Fastball
We will finish things up with this rising fastball from Bibee to MJ Melendez. Bibee allowed just one run to Kansas City, who has been struggling since losing Vinnie Pasquantino to injury.
