Cole Ragans‘ Knuckle-Curve
Cole Ragans continues to produce quality starts for the Royals and picked up his third consecutive victory on Wednesday. Ragans struck out eight and put away Kyle Farmer on a great back-foot breaking ball.
Jordan Montgomery’s Curveball
Coming off a great postseason performance last year, the going has been tough in 2024 for Jordan Montgomery. However, the Rockies are a good opponent to get back on track and Montgomery recorded his best outing in nearly a month. He struck out eight, his most in an outing this year, and got Sam Hilliard swinging on a nice curve.
Tanner Houck’s Sweeper
After dominating the first half, the second half has had a few more bumps in the road for Tanner Houck, though the overall numbers still look good. Houck ended his evening an out short of seven full innings and got rookie Wyatt Langford to chase a sweeper way outside.
Mitch Keller’s Sinker
Mitch Keller got roughed up on Wednesday allowing eight runs over five innings. He only picked up a pair of strikeouts, however, this sinker up and in to Jake Cronenworth was particularly nasty.
Dean Kremer’s Sinker
Dean Kremer took the hill Wednesday looking for his first win in over a month after picking up losses in five of his last six outings. He allowed only a single run to the visiting Nationals and tallied three punchouts. James Wood fell victim to a great splitter that fell out of the zone.
Will Warren’s Sinker
Yankees’ youngster Will Warren was called up Wednesday to make a spot start against the White Sox. He finished off the second inning by getting Chuckie Robinson to flail at a filthy sinker.
Davis Martin’s Changeup
After the White Sox sell-off at the deadline, Davis Martin has found himself in the starting rotation and entered Wednesday coming off the best start of his young season. He picked up where he left off striking out the first batter of the game, Alex Verdugo, on a nasty change.
Justin Anderson’s Sinker
Justin Anderson followed up Martin on the mound and logged two outs, both of them strikeouts. He escaped a jam in the sixth with a punchout of Anthony Volpe on a sinker that disappeared below the zone.
Adrian Morejon’s Slider
Adrian Morejon allowed four baserunners and a run in his lone inning of work but did record all three outs by way of the K. He finished off the game with a backdoor-breaking ball that caught Connor Joe looking.
Danny Young’s Sweeper
Mets’ reliever Danny Young picked up a pair of strikeouts in his lone inning of work on Wednesday and recorded the second out of the inning on a great sweeping breaking ball to Armando Alvarez.
