Jack Flaherty’s Knuckle-Curveball
Jack Flaherty looked born to be a Dodger with this sensational seven-strikeout performance against the A’s as he commanded the strike zone with aplomb. Flaherty held the A’s scoreless with six impressive frames. Rookie Darell Hernaiz was on the end of this vicious 77 mph knuckle curve.
Zack Littell’s Slider
…for days! Zack Littell with yet another excellent outing against a top offense. Despite only three strikeouts, Littell was in complete command of this outing, notching his fifth win of the season as his recent form continues to impress. Jake Meyers got schooled by this 87 mph hard slider.
Ronel Blanco’s Slider
Impressing up against Littell with seven strikeouts, Ronel Blanco also flashed his fantastic slider with this 87 mph effort to fell Yandy Díaz. Blanco was unlucky to take the loss in this game after allowing just two runs on six hits.
Hunter Greene’s Four-Seam Fastball
98 mph paint on the outside corner for Hunter Greene, who struck out 11 in a dominating performance against the Giants to pick up his eighth win of the year.
Bailey Ober’s Changeup
His seventh and most important strikeout as it set up his team to take the lead in the bottom of the seventh frame to set Bailey Ober up for his 11th win of the season. And this beautiful 83 mph changeup with elite movement away from the left-hander Dominic Fletcher was his pitch of the day.
Carlos Rodón’s Four-Seam Fastball
After a rough month in late June and early July, Carlos Rodón impressed again for his third straight win thanks to eight strikeouts as the Yankees ran all over the Blue Jays to win 8-3. Rodon lost five straight outings after a rough four-week spell before bouncing back in the past couple of weeks. He blows this 97 mph fastball past young Davis Schneider.
Michael Lorenzen’s Changeup
The Royals are enjoying the best of Michael Lorenzen right now after they traded for the big right-hander. Lorenzen’s changeup was on song in striking out four Tigers hitters, including Jake Rogers, who had no chance with this 84 mph change.
José Soriano’s Sinker
Finally, the Angels have a pitcher to get excited about for the future. José Soriano struck out six across six frames to continue his impressive season. The 25-year-old Dominican has taken another step forward this season and is beginning to look like a weapon for the beleaguered Anaheim franchise. This 98 mph sinker was lethal.
