Fantasy Baseball Daily Hitting Recap: 9/10/2025

Breaking down notable hitting performances from yesterday’s games.

Welcome To Jake Burger Home Of The Jake Burger Can I Take Your Order?

Jake Burger (TEX): 2-3, 2 HR, 2 R, 3 RBI, BB.

The Texas Rangers accomplished the unthinkable on Wednesday, pulling off a sweep of the vaunted Milwaukee Brewers thanks to a pair of HRs ordered up from Jake Burger off ace Freddy Peralta. Burger got the scoring started for Texas in the second inning with a 432-foot solo shot and followed up with a two-run blast in the fifth to give Texas a three-run lead it would hold on to. The 29-year-old has really stepped up for the Rangers at the plate, with four HRs over the last week and a .349/.404/.744 line in his last 15 games. Texas now sits just 1.5 games out of a Wild Card spot and just 2.5 games behind Houston for the AL West division lead.

Let’s see how the other hitters did on Wednesday:

Brice Turang (MIL): 2-5, HR, R, RBI, SB.

Brice Turang has officially taken that jump to becoming one of the best 2B in baseball, and he showed off every facet of his game on Wednesday, hitting his 18th HR of the season and stealing his 24th base. Turang isn’t stealing bases at nearly the rate he did in 2024, when he had 50, but he only hit 13 HRs in the last two seasons combined and has easily set career highs in AVG/OBP/SLG (.289/.356/.445).

Shea Langeliers (ATH): 2-4, HR, 2B, 2 R, RBI, BB.

Shea Langeliers launched his 30th HR of the season in the first inning on Wednesday, but even more impressively doubled and scored the winning run in the bottom of the ninth off Aroldis Chapman to give the A’s the victory over Boston. While Langeliers has always shown excellent power at the plate, he has really evolved as a hitter in 2025, cutting his strikeout rate down to 19.3% from 27.2% in 2024 and setting career highs across the board with a .266/.314/.536 line.

Geraldo Perdomo (ARI): 2-4, HR, R, 2 RBI, BB, SB.

It is a flat-out crime that the average baseball fan not only doesn’t appreciate the season Geraldo Perdomo is having, but might not even know who he is. Perdomo hit his 18th HR and stole his 25th base in Arizona’s 5-3 win over San Francisco on Wednesday, and he has done it all with a 1.18 BB/K rate, good for second in baseball behind Luis Arraez, who doesn’t even come close to Perdomo’s power/speed numbers. Learn the name, baseball fans, because he is unequivocally one of the best shortstops in baseball.

Xavier Edwards (MIA): 3-5, HR, 3 R, 3 RBI.

Xavier Edwards broke out of a nearly month-long slump on Wednesday, roping three hits, including a three-run HR in the eighth inning to seal the win for Miami. Before his August struggles, Edwards was flirting with the NL batting title, but he is still enjoying a solid 2025 (.282/.340/.356) following up his outstanding rookie season (.328/.397/.423).

Jakob Marsee (MIA): 4-5, R, RBI.

Jakob Marsee continued his scorching start to his MLB career with a four-hit game on Wednesday to raise his line to .336/.404/.573 in 143 at-bats. Between Triple-A and the MLB in 2025, Marsee has 19 HRs and 57 stolen bases, and I, for one, am very excited to see what kind of numbers the 24-year-old can put up in a full major league season.

Yainer Diaz (HOU): 2-4, HR, 2B, R, 2 RBI.

Yainer Diaz popped a 385-foot solo go-ahead HR in the ninth inning off Blue Jays closer Jeff Hoffman to give the Astros a crucial 3-2 win on Wednesday. Diaz also got the scoring started for Houston with an RBI double in the second inning.

Carson Kelly (CHC): 2-5, HR, R, RBI.

Carson Kelly tied up the game at one with a solo HR off Cy Young winner Chris Sale in the fourth inning, and the Cubs would go on to sneak out a 3-2 win over Atlanta. Kelly has had a very streaky 2025, but the 31-year-old is having his best season since his breakout 2019 with Arizona, hitting .255/.344/.455 with 17 HRs, one short of his career-high.

Juan Soto (NYM): 2-5, HR, 2B, 2 R, RBI, SB.

Despite the Mets tumbling down the Wild Card standings, Juan Soto has shown that the Mets made the right call in giving him that massive contract over the offseason. The future Hall of Famer hit his 39th HR of the season in the eighth inning off hard-throwing lefty reliever José Alvarado and added his 31st stolen base earlier in the game. If the Mets can just hold onto a playoff spot, they will be a dangerous team with Soto in the lineup, but that is looking like a big if right now.

Max Kepler (PHI): 3-4, HR, R, 5 RBI.

The Phillies’ offseason outfield addition hasn’t had nearly the success that Soto has, but Max Kepler powered the Philadelphia to an 11-3 win over New York on Wednesday with his 16th HR and five RBI. Kepler has frustrated Philly fanatics all season, but he has been effective over the last month, hitting .267/.325/.476 with six HRs.

Yandy Díaz (TB): 2-4, HR, 2 R, RBI, BB.

It is a shame we won’t get to see Yandy Díaz in the postseason with Tampa Bay, because he has all the makings of a postseason hero. One of the best hitters in baseball who probably doesn’t get the respect he deserves, Diaz is hitting .292/.350/.474 after hitting his 23rd HR of the season on Wednesday and doing it all with an elite 14.5 K%.

Junior Caminero (TB): 2-4, HR, 2B, R, 2 RBI.

The HRs just keep on coming for Junior Caminero as he hit his 42nd of the season, putting him just two shy of Aaron Judge for third in the American League. We all expected big things from the 22-year-old coming into the season, but the power this young man has displayed in 2025 has been nothing short of astonishing.

Mookie Betts (LAD): 4-5, HR, 2B, R, 5 RBI.

Mookie Betts is starting to heat up at the right time for the Dodgers as he drove in five runs while hitting his 18th HR of the season in their 9-0 rout of Colorado. Betts has been slowed by illness and injury this season, but the former MVP is hitting .356/.406/.712 with five HRs over his last 15 games.
