Fantasy Baseball Daily Hitting Recap: 9/21/25

Breaking down notable hitting performances from yesterday’s games.

Trioloro Tralala

Jared Triolo (PIT): 4-5, 2B, HR, 2 R, 3 RBI.

Jared Triolo had a fine day at the plate Sunday, helping the Pirates defeat the A’s 11-0, with a final line of 4-5, 2B, HR, 2 R, 3 RBI. Triolo has hit out of the Pirates’ leadoff spot since the end of August, but slotted into second on Saturday and Sunday behind Oneil Cruz. Triolo, with his multi-eligibility and high spot in the order, has made himself a nice pick-up for the home stretch for deep-league teams, especially in daily formats. His 11% walk rate and 19.8% K rate keep him atop Pittsburgh’s lineup, but his lack of power limits his appeal and ceiling in fantasy, even though he’s trying to prove his naysayers wrong, hitting .304/.375/.504 over the last month. You could do worse if you need a MI or CI fill-in during the final week of the season, as Triolo and the Pirates play three games on the road in Cincinnati.

Let’s see how the other hitters did Sunday:

Ben Rice (NYY): 4-5, 2B, HR, R, 5 RBI.

Ben Rice never seemed to catch fire consistently throughout the 2025 season. Sunday was one of those blow-up games, smacking a go-ahead grand slam in extras to help lead the Yankees to victory over the Orioles. The homer was his 24th on the season, and first since September 7, but Rice has been hot this month, slashing .287/.342/.537 over his last 30 games. It’ll be interesting to see how his playoff performance will affect his value going into 2026 fantasy drafts.

Corbin Carroll (ARI): 2-5, 2B, HR, 2 R, 4 RBI, SB.

Corbin Carroll hit a milestone on Sunday, becoming the first Diamondback to join the elusive 30/30 club. Arizona is still only one game back of a Wild Card spot with one week to go, and a lot of it is thanks to Carroll’s play this season. Carroll will be an excellent mid-round first-round pick in 2026, a rock-solid multi-category guy you can build a roster around in both roto and head-to-head leagues.

Joey Bart (PIT): 4-4, 2B, HR, 2 R, 3 RBI.

Once the heir-apparent to Buster Posey, Joey Bart now spends his days as the No. 2 catcher for the Pirates, but on Sunday, he had a perfect day at the plate in Pittsburgh’s blowout win. It must have felt so good for the two percent of Yahoo teams who started him.

Jorge Barrosa (ARI): 3-4, HR, 2 R, RBI.

Jorge Barrosa and his .107 AVG had a career day versus the Phillies, hitting his first major league home run. He’s never hit more than 13 homers in a season in the minors, so this is a pretty big accomplishment for the 24-year-old. No fantasy value here at all, but sometimes it’s just nice to note when a young player hits a career milestone. Have a day, Jorge!

Wyatt Langford (TEX): 1-2, HR, R, RBI, 2 BB, SB.

Langford hit his 22nd homer and stole his 22nd SB of the year Sunday. Langford’s lackluster season numbers are going to end up only slightly better than his rookie season numbers, but fantasy managers should be wise to remember he is only 23 years old. If the Rangers outfielder can stay on the field and find more consistency in his play next year, he’ll be worth the draft cost, likely his cheapest price of his young career.

Royce Lewis (MIN): 1-1, HR, R, 3 RBI.

All Royce Lewis needed on Sunday was one at-bat, crushing a three-run homer. Remember when he was the next Babe Ruth? His SLG is now just under .400, even with this homer, only his 13th of the season. His blue Statcast page is all you really need to know. Don’t overdraft Lewis in 2026. In fact, I’d add him to your 2026 do-no-draft list. Wait, you don’t have one of those yet? What are you even doing!

Alec Bohm (PHI): 4-4, 2B, R, BB.

Bohm is back with a bang from the IL with another nice game, going 4-for-4 with a double. It’s crazy to think Bohm is already 29. The Phillies’ window is closing, and so is Bohm’s. Another lackluster postseason for Bohm and his teammates, and Bohm might be shed off the roster a la Rhys Hoskins, and we’ve all seen how that’s gone in real life and in fantasy. Not good.

Fernando Tatis Jr. (SDP): 2-5, HR, R, RBI.

Is Tatis the most underwhelming star to own in fantasy? If you look at his red-hot Statcast page, you’d think he’d be up there with Shohei Ohtani and Aaron Judge. However, the results are just pedestrian, with 23 homers and, wait for it, only 65 RBI! It’s wild that he has almost double the amount of runs — 108. He’ll probably drop to the bottom of the second round next year, but does an age-26 Tatis have another level to lock into? Give me Nick Kurtz, Junior Caminero, and Gunnar Henderson over Tatis every time.

Cal Raleigh (SEA): 1-4, HR, R, 2 RBI.

Big Dumper is almost there, hitting No. 58 on Sunday night. What an incredible story, and what an incredibly nice person for this amazing storybook season to happen to. Everyone’s rooting for you, Cal. Let’s get it.
