Welcome to Waiver Wire Picks, our daily fantasy baseball article that highlights the best players in baseball that you should be adding to your rosters. We’ll look at those who are likely to be available in most leagues, as well as some deep league waiver wire options, and we’ll also look at the most added players in fantasy baseball across the major sites and let you know who to add and which players you can leave on the wire.
Top Priority Players to Add
Gage Jump (ATH), SP (40% Rostered on Yahoo)
Gage Jump delivered his best start yet in his last time out against the Angels, tossing seven shutout innings while striking out seven. He allowed one hit and three walks. Through the first five starts of his major league career, the youngster has a 2.37 ERA and 0.99 WHIP with 26 strikeouts in 30.1 innings. You can’t ask for much better than that, and in a landscape where pitching depth is hard to come by, it’s very surprising that the 23-year-old is still only 40% rostered.
While the strikeouts haven’t quite been there yet, with a rate of just 22.0%, we’re talking about a top prospect who struck out 33.1% of the batters he faced in Triple-A this season before getting the call. The punchouts are bound to show themselves eventually, and they’ve already started to, with 13 strikeouts over his past 12 innings. The efficiency has also been impressive for someone so young, as he’s gone seven full frames in two of his five starts so far. His next start comes on Wednesday in San Francisco, making him a great streaming option who’s worth holding onto afterward.
Cole Carrigg (COL), OF (16% Rostered on Yahoo)
Cole Carrigg has enjoyed a pretty successful start to his major league career, slashing .250/.388/.550 with three home runs and one steal in 12 games played. It’s especially promising to see the power shine through so quickly, as the outfielder was much more known for his speed in the minors. Before getting promoted, he had tallied six home runs and 30 steals in 57 games at Triple-A, so his fantasy stock could soar even higher once he starts getting active on the basepaths once again. The only place where he isn’t a guaranteed must-add is shallow, three-outfielder points leagues, but even in those he’d make a great streaming option in weeks in Coors Field.
Nasim Nuñez (WAS), 2B/SS (21% Rostered on Yahoo)
Nasim Nuñez is shaping up to be who people expected Chandler Simpson to be this season. While the batting average sits at a poor mark of .236 on the season, he’s actually batted .429 over the past 14 days and .338 over the past 30 days. There is virtually zero power in his profile, but that doesn’t matter when he’s leading the league in stolen bases with 28. You shouldn’t expect him to bat over .300 for the rest of the season, but even if that number is closer to .260 than .220, the steals alone make him a must-roster in Roto leagues.
Tatsuya Imai (HOU), SP (35% Rostered on Yahoo)
Tatsuya Imai turned things around in his last time out against the Guardians, allowing three runs on six hits and no walks with 11 strikeouts over six innings. He garnered a whopping 20 whiffs on 89 pitches, with most coming from his slider, which absolutely dominated. He’s obviously had some ups and downs this season, with many more downs, but this could be the start of him figuring things out. He’s next scheduled to take the mound on Thursday against the Tigers, and I recommend adding him before the start, in case he looks like this again.
Yahoo and ESPN Most Added Players

Andre Pallante was a popular Monday streamer, and he came through with a quality start against the Diamondbacks. He allowed one run on six hits and no walks while striking out two. This was his third straight quality start, and while the lack of strikeouts caps his upside, he’s shown enough consistency to remain a solid streaming option moving forward.
Carter Jensen has been heating up as of late, as he entered Monday 10 for his last 20 with two home runs. Over the past 30 days, he’s batting .269 with 17 runs, four home runs, and 20 RBI. A lengthy cold spell diminished the rising hype around the youngster, but he’s showing he can adapt and overcome challenges at the major league level. While catcher has become a pretty deep position in fantasy, Jensen should be coming back on the radar as a streaming option in one-catcher leagues.
Shane Bieber is making his season debut on Tuesday for the Blue Jays, and he should be rostered in all leagues. He looked great in seven starts last season, posting a 3.57 ERA and 1.02 WHIP. While he’s not going to be the ace he once was, and his return from injury may be rocky at times, the upside is much higher than any other pitcher who would be on the waiver wire.
TJ Rumfield is heating back up, as he has four home runs since June 14th. On the season, he has an excellent .279/.357/.480 with 12 homers. While he’s not a must-start player by any means, he should probably be added and streamed in any weeks where the Rockies spend the full time at home.
Eric Lauer was another popular streamer for Monday, and he fired six no-hit innings with two strikeouts after coming into the game in the second inning following an opener. This was his third pretty solid start in a row, but it’s also the second start in a row where he’s walked three batters. He’s good enough to stream in the right matchups, but it’s hard to imagine Lauer remains a fantasy contributor for the rest of the season.

Pallante, Jensen, and Bieber were already mentioned above, leaving two players left to discuss. Foster Griffin was a Monday and two-start streamer, and he delivered against the Phillies. He tossed 7.1 innings, allowing one run on four hits with nine strikeouts. This was his fourth consecutive start allowing one run, and he has quietly been enjoying a great season so far. While he’s already 67% rostered on Yahoo and 57.5% on ESPN, he should probably be rostered in more as a highly consistent mid-rotation option. Jac Caglianone is even more rostered on every platform, and ESPN is really the only place he is widely available. He’s batting over .300 with seven homers over the past month, and should be universally rostered as it looks like the breakout is here.
Streaming Pitchers
Be sure to check out Nick Pollack’s SP Streamer Rankings to figure out who you need to start, stream, or sit each day this season. There is one name that I particularly like for today.
Shane Baz (BAL), SP (56% Rostered on Yahoo)
Shane Baz has been very consistent as of late, as he’s gone seven straight starts without giving up more than three runs in an outing. Three of the seven were one-run performances, and two of them were nine-strikeout gems. Today he gets a great matchup against a Trout-less Angels offense that should be easy to take advantage of. Baz came into the year with breakout aspirations, and he should probably be rostered in more than 56% of leagues considering how he’s been pitching.
Speculative Adds
Joshua Baez (STL), OF (17% Rostered on Yahoo)
Joshua Baez is the favorite to become the next major prospect promoted, and it’s no surprise after he had a historic four-homer night last week. On the season, he’s slashing .274/.343/.626 with 25 home runs and 12 stolen bases, and he impressed even more with his speed in 2025, when he swiped 54 bags in 117 games. Baez has the opportunity to be a five-category standout at the major league level and would be a must-roster once promoted. His 30.0% strikeout rate does present some concern that would likely limit his batting average in the majors, but the combination of raw power and speed would present upside that you rarely find on the waiver wire.
