With their 100th win of the season, the Baltimore Orioles have officially clinched the top spot in the AL East! A solo home run from Anthony Santander in the first inning was all the Orioles would need thanks to a shutout from Dean Kremer and the bullpen. This is the sixth time in franchise history that Baltimore has won 100 games in a season. They advanced all the way to the World Series in four of the previous five times they won 100+ games.
Additionally, the team announced on the Camden Yards scoreboard that the team will be staying in Baltimore for at least the next 30 years. Soak it in, Orioles fans!

Atlanta completed a sweep of the Cubs last night, securing their 103rd win of the season and home-field advantage throughout the 2023 postseason. The Braves proved once again why they’re such a dangerous team in this series against the Cubs. Chicago had difficulties in the field and Atlanta capitalized on nearly all of those errors.
Matt Olson also added to his single-season franchise records last night with his 54th home run and 136th RBI of the season.

Bryce Harper vs. Angel Hernandez.

Bryce Harper had a gripe, and for good reason. Third base umpire Angel Hernandez rung him up on a check swing he clearly did not go around on. Every time I watch the replay, it’s even more clear that Harper didn’t go. The Phillies slugger walked down the third base line, yelling at Hernandez, and got tossed. Harper then got his money’s worth, walking right up to the umpire to voice his displeasure.
As he was walking to the dugout, Harper chucked his helmet into the stands. A little kid was seen on the broadcast wearing the helmet. Harper then got stadium security to track down the 10-year-old and tell him that Harper wanted to sign the helmet. Lil Hayden is going to be the coolest kid at school today!
Here is Hayden Dorfman, age 10, who caught the helmet Harper threw after he was ejected tonight. A few security guards approached him and told him Harper wanted to sign it.
He said Harper is his favorite player and added that this is “the best baseball game he’s ever been to” pic.twitter.com/uq4J3Ylhwf
