MLB Rumor Roundup: 6/20

Diving into recent talk, transactions, and trends around the league!

Welcome back to another week of Rumor Roundup, where we dive into all the recent talk, transactions, and trends from around the league, balancing both fantasy baseball implications and real-world baseball analysis through the lens of a front office.

Featured Story

Los Angeles Angels superstar outfielder Mike Trout is headed to the 10-day IL with a right hamstring strain, multiple sources confirmed on Thursday. The 34-year-old didn’t seem to worried about the stint, and while he told reporters the team doesn’t have an exact timetable for his return just yet, he’s optimistic this will be a quick pause from action.

Mike Trout on the injury, via MLB and ESPN sources: “From last night to to today, it’s a night and day difference, so that’s positive for me. I was a little worried last night, but had a plane plane ride and just sitting down after playing, so that kind of came into effect. But feels way better today, so. I’m not overly concerned about it, but I’m going to do everything I can, in that training room and the weight room to get back.”

Trout has already mashed 17 home runs this season, plus is slashing .234/.394/.472 with a 139 wRC+. This is a player that hasn’t played over 130 games in a single season since 2019, for what it’s worth, so fans and fantasy managers alike have the right to be cautiously optimistic about his return.
