Here are your morning rankings for today’s starting pitcher options.
It’s not perfect and will be far from the actual results at the end of the day, though it should give guidance for those questioning who to slot into your lineup on a given day.
There is a second table for tomorrow’s starting pitcher matchups as well, helping everyone get a jump on their nightly pickups. Please note that these matchups are subject to change, though, and there will be times when I have the incorrect pitcher going. I thank you for your future understanding.
Color Legend:
Green = Blindly Start
Blue = Likely start, comes with some risk
Gray = Neutral start, decent but be cautious
Yellow = Sit, but has upside if you need it
Red = Do. Not. Start.

Is it bad sportsmanship to pick up pitchers you can’t use (bc you’re maxed out) to block opponents who are chasing you from using them?
Honestly, I think as long as you can do it, it’s a viable strategy.
You just need enough room on the roster to do it + your opponent should plan for this as well.
where would you rank some of the “followers” going today, like Dustin May and Tarik Skubal?
It’s unclear as we just don’t know how they’ll be used.
I’d put May around the Blue / Grey tier change, with Tarik around the grey / yellow tier change.
Frankie Montas, Rich Hill, Brubaker. Pick 2? I am having a hard time believing Montas can turn it around. I need ERA and WHIP to be tight
Brubaker + Hill.
I think Montas should be okay, but considering your gut feeling, you should be fine with Hill/Brubaker and not give yourself that personal anxiety.
Thanks Nick, should be an interesting finish.
Hey Nick and all the other loyal pitcherlist followers, I’m in a tight points league race and anything can happen today. I have the choice of pitchers ranked 3 through 6 on the list for today and have been favoring starting Lugo as it looks like Nick agrees. With that being said, does anyone know of any restrictions that the Mets would put on Lugo since they have been eliminated? More points are awarded for going deeper in the game and getting a QS. Thanks in advance for the advice!
I don’t see why the Mets wouldn’t let Lugo go do his thing and prove himself a worthy starter for 2021. I’d let him ride!
thanks, Nick. that’s kind of what I figured but was looking for some reinforcement. also, I know this is a SP thread, but what about closers on the final day? I have a whole bunch of options as I grabbed them down the stretch in prep for this moment. Which two would you start:
M Melancon
D Bard
S Cricton
R Rodriguez
A Miller
B Garcia
M Mayers
Honestly, any quality innings they throw today will help – so just hoping I go with someone that pitchers and gets some Ks (with potential for a W or SV or course). Thoughts?
