Top Priority Players to Add
Mickey Gasper, C/1B (BOS) — 23% Rostership
Gasper has been simply the best player in baseball since he was recalled on August 17th. Here’s a look at where his numbers sit since the promotion:

It would be unwise to bet against Gasper moving forward, even if this is a temporary add.
Carter Jensen, C (KC) — 50% Rostership
Jensen is another quality addition if your team is in need of a backstop. The young catcher is slashing .359/.458/.872 with a monster 251 wRC+ over the past two weeks, thanks to launching five home runs (T-2nd in MLB) over that span.
Yahoo and ESPN Most Added Players
Max Scherzer was brilliant in his last time out, tossing seven shutout innings while punching out ten batters. Scherzer has been able to limit offenses to two or fewer earned runs over six of his last seven outings… the one major implosion (7 earned runs against the Rays) may have bloated his total line over that span, but he’s still rocking a 3.08 xERA and .198 BAA during that stretch.
Zac Thornton is a fun innings eating lefty that should be worth an add. He won’t punch out many batters but he’s rocking a sub-3 ERA and has shown the ability to go 5+ innings pretty consistently.
Javier Assad and Martín Pérez aren’t the greatest sustainable adds given the underlying qualities, but if you’re trying to stack points this week, they seem like fair bets. Yusei Kikuchi is coming off a strong seven inning performance and he’d be the best choice of the bunch in my opinion, with a little more upside in the strikeout rate department.
Clay Holmes has been pretty much the only Cubs deadline acquisition that has made a noteworthy impact thus far. His ERA is down to 2.09 on the year, and I’m not sure why he wouldn’t be rostered.
Taj Bradley has put together a solid campaign. After a really rough bunch of starts throughout midsummer, Bradley has been able to turn things around:

It helps when you’re punching batters out at a 36% clip, and that’s exactly what Bradley is doing. He’s more than capable of making a start or two down the stretch for your team.

Ian Seymour, LHP (TB) — 50% Rostership
Seymour has been a nifty target all year to stream (or as I indicated earlier in the season, stash for matchup-based starts). Seymour owns a 3.35 ERA/3.18 xERA and 28.3% K-BB rate over 45.2 innings since July 3rd. This is a slam-dunk add.
Christian Scott, RHP (NYM) — 12% Rostership
Scott is a risk/reward play that boasts big strikeout potential. His 27.4% strikeout rate since returning to the majors this season is great, but it comes with an alarming 10.7% walk rate. Overall, the stuff is great and he’s done a great job trying to work later into games. It all hinges on limiting free passes.
