Welcome to the Waiver Wire Picks, our daily fantasy baseball article that looks at the best players in baseball that you should be adding to your rosters. We’ll look at the players that are likely to be available in most leagues, as well as some deep league waiver wire options, and we’ll also look at the most added players in fantasy baseball across the major sites, and let you know which players to add, and which players you can leave on the wire.
Top Priority Players to Add
Roman Anthony (BOS), OF (57% Yahoo, 29% ESPN)
At a quick glance, it might look like Roman Anthony isn’t living up to his lofty expectations. On the surface, that may be true to some extent, as his .267/.380/.405 slash line with two homers through 34 games doesn’t scream superstar, but there’s evidence to believe that a huge breakout is on the horizon. His .453 xSLG still isn’t anything special, but it is still much better than its actual counterpart, and his 94 mph average exit velocity and 56.1% hard-hit rate are numbers you’d expect from one of the best hitters in the league.
He’s notably not being completely fooled at the plate, which is a common fate for rookie batters. His 22.7% strikeout rate is manageable, while his 19% chase rate and 12.9% walk rate are both elite. The youngster collected two hits on Sunday, which was his seventh multi-hit performance in his last 18 games. It’s only a matter of time before it all clicks, and he could become an elite fantasy option when that does happen.
Iván Herrera (STL), C (55% Yahoo, 41% ESPN)
Iván Herrera returned from the injured list on July 13 after missing three weeks with a strained hamstring. He’s only played in a handful of games since returning, but it’s important to remember just how dominant he’s been when healthy this season. In 46 games, he is slashing .313/.383/.506 with eight home runs. That’s a potential top-five catcher who should be universally rostered.
Chase Burns (CIN), SP (55% Yahoo, 33% ESPN)
Outside of a rough second start against the Red Sox, where he gave up five earned runs in only one-third of an inning, Chase Burns has been pretty electric to start his career. Most recently, he allowed two runs over six innings while striking out 10 against the Rockies. It’s pretty easy to imagine him as at least a top-40 starting pitcher for the rest of the season, which means he should be rostered in every league.
Jo Adell (LAA), OF (53% Yahoo, 22% ESPN)
Jo Adell finally seems to be having his long-awaited breakout. Although he’s batting .243 with a .314 on-base percentage, he has 21 home runs in 92 games. He’s been especially hot over the past 30 days, posting a .304 batting average with six home runs. This could just be a hot streak, but either way, he is looking like a must-start outfielder for the time being.
Addison Barger (TOR), 3B/OF (53% Yahoo, 25% ESPN)
Addison Barger hasn’t slowed down, launching his 14th home run of the season on Sunday. He’s now slashing .272/.325/.521, and his underlying metrics completely back it up, as he’s posted a 94th percentile average exit velocity and an 88th percentile xSLG. He could be a top-12 option at third base from here on out and would be a great replacement if you recently lost Isaac Paredes or Alec Bohm.
Sean Manaea (NYM), SP (50% Yahoo, 35% ESPN)
Sean Manaea finally made his season debut on July 13 and over his first two outings has allowed two earned runs over 7.1 innings while striking out 13. The strikeouts are extremely promising to see, as it seems hitters are still struggling against the new arm slot Manaea adopted in the second half of last season. He has the potential to be a fantasy difference maker in the second half and should be added in all leagues.
Yahoo and ESPN Most Added Players

The most added List on Yahoo consists of four Sunday streamers and Luke Keaschall. Keaschall is the most interesting of this list, and his spike in waiver wire adds correlates to him starting a rehab assignment recently. He played in only seven games before suffering a fractured forearm, but in those games went 7-for-19 with four strikeouts, five walks, and five stolen bases. He could be a starting option moving forward at one of the weakest positions in fantasy, and is worth stashing if you need help at the position.
There’s not too much to say about the four streaming options, other than that none are worth hanging on to for their next starts. All four of them allowed at least five earned runs on Sunday, despite pretty favorable matchups for most of them. Unless you play in a very deep league, you’re better off switching them out for new streaming options.

The most added list on ESPN includes five players on the higher end of roster percentage rates, with only one player falling below the 60% threshold on Yahoo that qualifies them for this article. That player is Trevor Rogers, who allowed two runs on five hits and two walks with three strikeouts over six innings on Sunday against the Rays. This was his third straight quality start, and his ERA now sits at a minuscule 1.74 over 41.1 innings. It looks like the Orioles may have unlocked the 27-year-old’s potential, and he’s worth an add in any standard-sized leagues.
The other four players are all highly rostered on most platforms and are finally starting to catch up on ESPN. Kyle Stowers, Eury Perez, Nick Kurtz, and Ceddanne Rafaela all look to be breaking out and should all be rostered in most leagues.
Category Specific Players To Add
Chandler Simpson (TB), OF (37% Yahoo, 18% ESPN)
Chandler Simpson returned to the major leagues on June 24th and has been the same player he was before his demotion. Over the past month, he is batting .371 with eight stolen bases, pushing his season totals to a .308 batting average with 27 steals. While the power is nonexistent, you won’t find a better bet for those two categories.
Giancarlo Stanton (NYY), DH (25% Yahoo, 9% ESPN)
Giancarlo Stanton went 3-for-5 on Sunday, pushing his season batting average up to .286. Of course, his power is his actual standout tool, and he has four home runs since being activated off the injured list a little over a month ago. The slugger’s 56.5% hard-hit rate and 93.9 mph average exit velocity still rank among the best in the league, making him one of the better widely available options for homers.
Streaming Pitchers
Be sure to check out Nick Pollack’s SP Streamer Rankings to figure out who you need to start, stream, or sit each day this season. There is one name that I particularly like for today.
Mitch Keller (PIT), SP (51% Yahoo, 59% ESPN)
Mitch Keller has typically had very high highs and very low lows over the past few seasons. He seems to get caught in stretches where he looks completely lost on the mound, but he’s also shown stretches of very dominant performances. 2025 as a whole has been a very good season for the 29-year-old, as he’s posted a 3.48 ERA and 1.14 WHIP while looking like the better version of himself on most nights. That’s especially true as of late, as he hasn’t given up more than three earned runs in a start since June 5. He’ll head into Monday’s matchup looking to extend his quality start streak to four in a row, and even though it’s not the easiest matchup against the Tigers, I’m riding the hot streak.
