Luis Severino takes no-hit bid into the 8th vs Cubs
An incredible stat line for the the Mets starter; Severino brought a one-walk no-hitter into the eighth, but allowed a base knock after his second walk of the night. With no outs and just one run of support, the effort was ultimately wasted as Christopher Morel broke the 1-1 tie with a two-run blast in the ninth for the Cubs to take home the victory.
The New York Mets faithful know a good performance when they see one and gave Severino a well-earned ovation as he departed.

Dodgers record zero strikeout game!
Effective to say the least!! As you might imagine, you’re going to score some runs when you put the ball in play that much, and Los Angeles did just that, winning 8-4 over Arizona. That had to feel good after last year… since… you know… they got swept by the Snakes. But hey, 1-0 vs them with Ohtani, right?

It is, in fact, the first time in 18 years that a team completed a game without a single strikeout. This offense is impressive.
Orioles defeat Yankees 2-0
Two of the most impressive offenses in baseball met yesterday, but you wouldn’t have known it based on the box score. This game was 1-0 for the majority of play, the single score coming from a solo home run from Gunnar Henderson. It was his MLB-leading 10th. It was all the Orioles needed behind Grayson Rodriquez, who threw 5 2/3 innings.
This young talent on Baltimore’s roster is special. This series is some must-watch baseball. Even though we are just in late April you can feel the importance of every game between the teams expected to be atop the AL East come September.
Gunnar Henderson is the 9th player age 22 or younger with 10+ HR in his team’s first 28 games of a season, joining:
2020 Fernando Tatis Jr. (12)
1995 Manny RamÃrez (12)
1966 George Scott (11)
1998 Alex Rodriguez
1969 Reggie Jackson
1969 Carlos May
1959 Harmon Killebrew

Nick Lodolo shines as Reds win opener in San Diego
The Cincinnati lefty was electric, recording 11 strikeouts across seven innings of work and retired 18 straight batters to finish his evening. It was looking a bit rocky for Lodolo early after some walks and an early earned run crossed the plate, but he settled in and ultimately ended with 22 whiffs! A great sign for this Reds team.

Best Moments From Yesterday
Mitch Garver walks off the Braves!
Late night heroics! I, personally, was asleep but the M’s were looking at a scoreless, 1-0 loss to Atlanta. Man on, no out… you’re going to see some pitches over the plate. Mitch made’m pay! This angle is a beautiful capture of the emotion. How can you not love baseball?

Elly De La Cruz rips fastest throw recorded by Statcast
I mean… what?! 106.9mph? It wasn’t catchable but the effort is inane. Gotta see this one yourself. Truly moves like a bullet.
Statcast says this throw by Elly De La Cruz was 106.9 mph. If true that would be the fastest throw in MLB history. #Reds #ATOBTTR pic.twitter.com/A8pGPLRqnp
