Relievers To Stream for Wins and Saves – 9/23

Which relievers might be in line to vulture a save or win today?

The final week is upon us. Be sure to get your saves—you never know which category is going to be the one you win (or lose) by one to decide a matchup. Save situations are a bit of a mess at this point, but they really have been all year. Find out who could get you a save or a win out of the pen for today and check back tomorrow to begin padding those stats in a new week.

  • Mike Mayers has taken over the Angels closer job but should be off tonight after pitching the last two days. Ty Buttrey or Matt Andriese should be in line to vulture a save tonight if one should arise.
  • Edwin Diaz worked the past two nights, leaving him potentially unavailable for tonight’s game. If the Mets find themselves in a save situation, expect them to turn to Miguel Castro or Justin Wilson.

  • Daniel Hudson hasn’t picked up a save in the past two weeks, and after pitching the past two days, likely won’t get one tonight. If the Nationals do need someone to close out the game, I’d expect to see Kyle McGowin or possibly Will Harris.
  • The Giants’ closer situation is a headache for fantasy purposes, as Sam Coonrod picked up the save last night with Tony Watson and Tyler Rogers working before him. If you want to take a chance on any one of the three, I think I’d still suggest Watson, but Coonrod now has 3 saves over the past month.
