Bowden Francis‘ Splitter

A phenomenal 12 strikeout-game from Blue Jays youngster Bowden Francis was the highlight of Saturday’s baseball action. This nasty 83 mph splitter to get Logan O’Hoppe was typical of his dominance throughout the outing.

Shota Imanaga’s Changeup

It’s good to have Japanese sensation Shota Imanaga back with the Cubs. His lefty magic has been missed. He only registered three strikeouts across his excellent 10th win of the season, however this signature changeup was a beauty to fell Jonah Bride.

Tarik Skubal’s Four-Seam Fastball

A dominant Tarik Skubal breezed through the hapless White Sox lineup time and time again, notching eight strikeouts on the way to his 15th win of the campaign. This 97 mph heater with run away from the lefty was pure class.

Pablo López’s Sweeper

Four of Pablo López’s nine strikeouts came by way of the sweeper, and this nasty 86 mph effort to strikeout Masyn Winn in a big spot in the fifth inning was a key moment in the contest. Elite stuff from the Twins ace.

Jhoan Duran’s Curveball

And finishing off the great work Lopez did for the Twins was closer Jhoan Duran, who did his best “I’m gonna make this curveball disappear” trick to fool Lars Nootbaar.

Taj Bradley’s Four-Seam Fastball

This is what a 100 mph heater perfectly placed looks like. Take a bow Taj Bradley.

Michael King’s Sinker

Three times in three innings Michael King got out of a jam with his two-seam fastball – the best was in the top of the third thanks to this phenomenal 94 mph sinker to dispose of slugger Pete Alonso. This was one of seven Ks for King in this one.

Yennier Cano’s Sinker

Alex Bregman is a great hitter. But sometimes you just have to pick your bat up and walk away. An unreal 98 mph sinker from Yennier Cano for what has to be the nastiest pitch of the day, right?
